Over one million people CAN use your product or service. Who is LIKELY to use your product or service? One of best ways to do this is to find a target or niche market.

First we'll start with product.

What product are YOU marketing? It is amazing to me that biggest problem with most marketers is they have never defined what they are selling!

Your business may have more than one product. You need to decide what product or products, or product category you like best. The products or results you get passionate about are usually your better choice.

Remember business ownership is a product with referral and affiliate programs.

Go to your company web site, catalog, whatever medium you have and select no more than three products or product categories that excite you.

You've selected your products or services. Take each product separately to find your niche market's motivation.

· Write down all of reasons people want, need or desire your product.

· Write down all fears they may have associated with buying it. ( won't work, poor value, breaks easily, tried others that didn't get results desired...)

· Write all fears they may have associated with not buying it. (I will still have knee pain, lack of energy, won't have money to send children to college, will have to work menial job after retirement, have to go back to work when children go back to school...I will look chubby in my swim suit)

Remember your prospect wants to satisfy a motivation. Your product is just a means to an end.

· Write down all features of your product and product category.

· Write down your offer and guarantee.

· Write down your service that will satisfy your customer's motivations.

Now, with this information you are ready to define your targeted niche market. You know what they are looking for.

Everyone wants more visitors to their website, and with online competition increasing daily, marketing your business online can seem like a daunting task. But as we come across ever more imaginative ways to lure them in, I can’t help feeling that vast majority of webmasters are overlooking a vast untapped online market. Potential markets of many millions of "surfers", many of which are likely to be interested in your products / services / website. But if such huge markets exist, why are nearly all webmasters overlooking them?

The answer is language.

We take it for granted that English is language of Net. Most of us don’t give it a second thought that many tens of millions of people are surfing web in languages other than English. The rate of new user growth in United States may be starting to slow down, but in Europe and elsewhere it’s just hotting up. Everyone’s getting online! And mixture of languages is enormous – French, German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish. In many of these countries, Internet is being embraced in ways not seen in US. One such example is Finland – now widely recognised as a pioneer in use of new Internet technologies and ways of using Internet. It is also home to techno giants such as Nokia and Erricson.

Historically, Europeans were colonist empires, and consequently, their languages are spread throughout world. Spain and Portugal dominated central and South America, and French reached Canada, Carribean and large parts of Africa. Consequently Spanish is official language of twenty countries, is spoken by over 250million people, and is third most widely spoken language in world. Then of course, there’s China. With over 1Billion people –that’s over 16% of population –it’s not going to be very long before we have to sit up and take notice of this huge emerging market.
