General Appearance: Elegant, small and compact. Colour: Dark steel blue with tan on skull, muzzle, ears and lower legs. All tan coloured hair strands should be darker at root and paler towards ends. Coat: Long, silky, soft and perfectly straight. Tail: Commonly docked and carried slightly higher than level of back. Ears: Small, V-shaped, covered with short hair and carried erect or semi-erect. Body: The body is very compact and well-proportioned with a level topline and well-laid back shoulders.
Temperament: Intelligent, tough, determined, playful and lively. Yorkshire Terriers are fairly quick to learn with positive and consistent training. They are tolerant of children, provided they are not treated like toys and have their own space to which they can retreat. This breed can be overly brave towards other dogs, but they generally get along fine with other household pets. Yorkshire Terriers always bark when they sense danger and will always alert their owners when visitors arrive. These terriers become very attached to their family and are not always ideal for elderly or small children with their lively and exuberant nature.

General Appearance: Alert, tiny, defiant and graceful. Colour: Any colour or mixture of colours. Coat: Smooth coat - Smooth, close and glossy. Long coat - Flat or slightly wavy with feathering on ears, tail, neck and feet. Tail: Long, set high, curved over back and tapering. Ears: Large, well seperated, carried erect when in motion and set at a 45-degree angle when at rest. Body: Short, level back, well sprung ribs and shoulders well laid back.
Temperament: Highly intelligent, alert, swift and fearless. These small dogs are obedient and easily trained. They can be aggressive towards other dogs and do not appreciate humans who invade their homes without permission. Families with young children need to supervise interaction between child and dog, due to it's small size. They are ideal companions for elderly and despite their tiny size Chihuahuas have a tremendous spirit and are far from delicate.
