What Is Your Motivation To Be Successful?Written by Gordon Bellows
Although this article was originally intended for people who want to be successful in a home-based business, main concept can be applied to all areas of our lives. In order to be successful, there should be some sort of motivation that is a driving force in helping you to reach your goal.Let's start by looking at what motivation means. We separate word motivation into two parts; m-o-t-i-v and a-t-i-o-n. When we add letter e to end of first part and letter c to second space of second part, we get motive and action. Motivation simply means a motive to take action. You might want to make more money, improve your lifestyle, or do any number of things that your daydreams are filled with. By looking closely at what you want, you begin to understand real reason you want it. That becomes your motive, which helps you to be more prepared to take action. It is better to be motivated by positive emotions rather than negative emotions. If you want to quit your job because you don't like boss and you hate long commute, those are negative emotions. However, if you want to quit your job so you can be self-employed and to spend more time at home with your children, those are positive emotions. Doing something for reasons that have positive emotions is more conducive to your success than doing it for reasons that have negative emotions. If you want to make more money (and who doesn't?) what is your reason for wanting more money? Do you want it so you can show off with fancy clothes and a new car? Or, do you want it so you can afford those nice things, because you worked hard to achieve your success, and you want to enjoy fruits of your labor? I hope you see that first reason is full of greed and an attitude of being better than others, which are wrong kinds of emotions. On other hand, second reason is better, but it should only be part of reason for wanting to make more money.

Too often these days we are programmed to believe there is constantly a travesty a foot. We are a heartbeat away from disaster, a breath away from destruction and a step off of course to devastation. The natural tendency with this sort of message being portrayed as truth would be to simply give up. To turn ourselves over to victim status, seeing that disaster, destruction and devastation are life's warped rewards. Instead, look towards one of America's most highly favored entrepreneurs from past, Henry Ford. Mr. Ford said these words: "Don't find fault, find a remedy." In other words, instead of looking at garbage and clucking your tongue, find a solution to garbage problem. No, don't hold a bureaucratic committee meeting about this piece of garbage or delegate solutions elsewhere without forethought, spend time in nitty gritty space of creativity: problems and solutions. Predicament and resolution. In Napoleon Hill's classic work, "Think and Grow Rich", one of Andrew Carnegie's Secrets of Success is called "Master Mind" which was defined "coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people for attainment of a definite purpose." How a Master Mind works, in simplest terms, is to use brainpower of those people you choose to surround yourself with to create successful conclusions together. Not a group of people put together by happenstance
