Starting a business

Written by Jos van Doorn

That's what they say. You need a lot to start a business. And one of these things is knowing yourself. What kind of person are you?

Let's get into that one. Because a statement like "Know Yourself" isn't enough. That statement has a very important meaning.

There are many different kind of people. You can see it in little kids. Being a kid. That's where it all starts. There you're formed.

There are kids who are leaders. They tell other kids what to do andrepparttar other do what they say. No questions asked.

Maybe a kid doesn't do whatrepparttar 106810 leader tells him to do. The leader knows what he must do. He acts and he acts in a very through way.

Next time when he tellsrepparttar 106811 other kid to do somethingrepparttar 106812 other kid will do it right away. The other kid knows that there is no way out.

Those arerepparttar 106813 leaders. But then you haverepparttar 106814 followers. Those arerepparttar 106815 kids that do whatrepparttar 106816 leader tells them to do.

The followers have no say. Sure. They can tell other kids to do something. But nobody does what he tells them to do.

All a follower can do is follow orders. No matter how good he is. No matter how much he knows. He can only follow orders.

So we've gotrepparttar 106817 leaders and we've gotrepparttar 106818 followers. But then there's a third category. Those arerepparttar 106819 kids that are always teased.

Everybody teases that kid. It is as if they have a big sign on their head saying "Tease me". These kid are teased or laughed at.

That's for kids. And thenrepparttar 106820 kids grow up. Do they change? No. The kids stayrepparttar 106821 same. The personalities ofrepparttar 106822 kids do not change.

Whenrepparttar 106823 kids are grown up you still haverepparttar 106824 leaders, repparttar 106825 followers, and those that are teased allrepparttar 106826 time. There is no change.

They start working. The leaders become boss in no time. The best followers can do is become second in command. They still report torepparttar 106827 leader.

Andrepparttar 106828 kids that were teased allrepparttar 106829 time. They grow up, they start working, andrepparttar 106830 teasing goes on. Nowrepparttar 106831 teasing hurts them in their career.

A leader or a follower always want to show off. They want to showrepparttar 106832 people how tough they are. Acting on people being teased allrepparttar 106833 time is easy.

Now. What kind of person are you? Are you a leader? Are you a follower? Or are yourepparttar 106834 person that's always been teased?

And how does that effect you if you want to start a business? Must you consider your personality for starting a business?

You bet. You can start different kinds of business. You can start a business on your own or you can work with other people.

Five Qualities of a Great Business Opportunity

Written by John R. Barker

1. A low overhead and startup cost

Overhead is any fixed cost that accrues whether you make a dime or not. They include; rent, employees, utilities, phone access, etc. Starting a business can be costly if it requires developing a new office space. A home-based business makesrepparttar most of existing resources. The lowerrepparttar 106809 fixed costs, repparttar 106810 greaterrepparttar 106811 odds a new business will be able to weatherrepparttar 106812 storm from start-up to profitability.

After much searching, I chose The Success Website as an additional income stream: http://www.thesuccesswebsite.com/2542 It is a great opportunity at just $19.95 per month. It requires NO additional overhead and I am entitled tax write-offs on my computer, Internet access, phone line, in-home office space, utilities, lunches where I talk aboutrepparttar 106813 opportunity and more. In tax savings alone it pays for itself without making even a dime. (*Consult your tax advisor for your specific situation).

2. Leverage

Leverage isrepparttar 106814 difference betweenrepparttar 106815 rich andrepparttar 106816 poor. The rich effectively leverage their time, money and resources. The poor do not. The rich leverage time by having others do tasks at less than what they haverepparttar 106817 potential to earn duringrepparttar 106818 same time period. The poor spend their time working forrepparttar 106819 profit of others. And,repparttar 106820 rich leverage their money by controlling a cash flow generating resource – assets - with as little of their own money as possible.

Working on your business and in your business are notrepparttar 106821 same. As Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki says, if you can walk away for a year and it doesn’t miss a beat you have a business. If not, you’re self-employed – you have a job. You are not utilizingrepparttar 106822 power of leverage. (I highly recommend Kiyosaki’s books if you have not read them. Learn more at http://www.getSynergized.com/richdad.htm)

3. Little or no inventory

Inventory is expensive to acquire and maintain. It requires a big chunk of cash - or debt - to acquire and there is no guarantee of selling even one widget. It requires complicated systems. It requires a team of people to manage it, order it, sort it, ship it, restock it, count it and reorder it again. Inventory also requires space. Having a low, or ideally, no-inventory business isrepparttar 106823 way to go.
