Written by Kara Kelso

From surveys and experience, we've noticed many setting excellent goals for their business. We've also noticed that whilerepparttar goals being set are good, repparttar 116366 results aren't. Around 90% of those in Direct Sales do SET goals, but never reach them.

Sorepparttar 116367 question comes to mind.....are you makingrepparttar 116368 right plans to reach your goals? It's GREAT to set a certain amount you want to make, so you have a little motivation, but withoutrepparttar 116369 proper planning reaching that goal is going to be more difficult.

Ask yourselfrepparttar 116370 following questions:

What have you done inrepparttar 116371 past that created sales? How can you improve on ideas for creating sales? What ideas for sales have you seen but not tried?

Take a minute to write down every way you can think of to make your sales (such as through parties, catalog shows, drawings, etc), then make some more specific goals for doing each task. Such as "contact 10 people and book at least 3 shows".

“Wow, I’m so thrilled I won this trip.”, I told a colleague.

“Debbi, you did not WIN this trip. You earned it.”

That came to mind today as I was reading an article in Jeffrey Gitomer’s newsletter. A real estate agent was writing in because he was having challenges with allrepparttar 116367 flat-rate agencies out there. Jeffrey related several problems he saw inrepparttar 116368 guy’s thinking, but then made a profound statement.

“Quit making money and start earning it.”

You see, a lot of people think that’srepparttar 116369 same thing. And that’s why they continue to struggle in their home business or with their home based business opportunity.

Most anyone can make money, but it takes a little more creativity and gumption to earn it. Here are a few things that come to mind…which do you do?

Making money by blasting your email list with any piece of junk that has a high commission?

Or earning money by evaluating products first and recommending only those which will help your prospects and customers?
