How Not to Write a Press Release

Written by Michele Pariza Wacek

Several years ago, when I was working for an agency, I was fired from an account. What that means isrepparttar client didn’t want me writing for him anymore.

Another writer, a friend of mine, gotrepparttar 142032 account and life went on.

Of course, I was pretty upset byrepparttar 142033 situation. I had completed several writing projects already for that client, which had seemed to go well, and had just finished a press release when I gotrepparttar 142034 boot.

My writer friend told me later her "secret" for making this client happy. Basically, what she did was rewriterepparttar 142035 press release so it focused solely onrepparttar 142036 client andrepparttar 142037 client’s business.

I said: "But what you’ve written isn’t that newsworthy. I don’t thinkrepparttar 142038 newspaper will accept it."

She said: "That’s not whatrepparttar 142039 client wants. Therefore, I don’t worry about it."

And she was right. (She keptrepparttar 142040 account after all.) The client wanted an "I’m so great" press release. He didn’t want something that might actually result in coverage for him. He wanted something that would make him feel good when he read it.

Inrepparttar 142041 world of public relations, press releases arerepparttar 142042 explorers. They travel far and wide, visiting media outlets everywhere, and presenting information about your products and services. Media people decide whether or not to cover your business based in large part on those hard-working press releases.

So, there's a lot riding on them. Therefore, it pays to take a little extra time to make sure they're outfitted correctly forrepparttar 142043 job.

When you get an idea for a press release, ask yourself this question: "Is this something someone else would be interested in or is this something only I (and maybe my mother) would want to read?"

Sounds easy, right? Well, if it was that easy, there wouldn't be so many "Look at me -- I'm so great" press releases running amuck out there.

Unfortunately, repparttar 142044 "I'm so great" press releases are seductive. They sound so good when you read them. They whisper things like: "Of courserepparttar 142045 editors will want to write about me. I would make a wonderful human interest/special feature/business feature story. Didn't I just see a story like this about my competitor/another business last week?"

MLM network Marketing Training- Are You Thinking Yourself Out of MLM Success?

Written by Doug Firebaugh

"Are you Thinking Yourself Out of Success?" (c) 2005 Doug Firebaugh

After nearly 20 years in this MLM industry, I have seen a lot of things that for whatever reason, have helped people, and have stopped people. And thereare those things that destroy people as well...

Many of us have taught many tactics and strategies (many you will learn inrepparttar PassionFire Training Letter) to help people create Success in their business, but I have foundrepparttar 142031 weirdest thing happening: Many folks have great ideas about succeeding, but their thinking is taking them totally out ofrepparttar 142032 game of Network Marketing.

They engagerepparttar 142033 actions that are meant to create successful outcomes, but yet, getrepparttar 142034 same results as before.

Why?

Understand this: You work this business twice. First between your ears, then between your hours.

And all that happens between your hours is nothing more than a phtotgraph of what is between your ears. READ THAT AGAIN!

FIRST you think and see it in your mind, and then when you go and workrepparttar 142035 business, it is a replica of what you saw in your brain. It is impossible to take any kind of action without thinking it first.

No exceptions. It may take only a second, but first you think it and see it, then you do it.

And most ofrepparttar 142036 time, we think:

"I will try this, but it probably will not work.."

"I'll probably get another NO".

"Why can't I do this likerepparttar 142037 succesful people do?"

"Here goes nothing"...

"I am no good at this business..."

"Why isn't this working for me????"
