Can the Internet Foster Intelligent Conversation?

Written by Jesse S. Somer

Canrepparttar Internet foster intelligent conversation and help to form new ideas and moral beliefs?

A weird thing happened yesterday as I walked through my university campus. A young man approached me from a political organization that obviously was canvassing for new members. This is nothing new as there are always people attacking me for one cause or another. I am very interested inrepparttar 118420 ways in which life and human society works especially inrepparttar 118421 realm of spirituality and morality. However, I have to admit that I've never really gotten much out of politics, or economics which politics seems to be mainly focused on. For some reason I got into a conversation with this fellow andrepparttar 118422 resulting experience affected me profoundly.

I don't know if his political group is relevant to this article but I will mention it is based around a U.S. Democrat named Lyndon Larouche. The guy was telling me in detail about howrepparttar 118423 present world economy based around George Bush's American system is destined for failure and causing much trouble inrepparttar 118424 world. This I agreed with wholeheartedly as I can't condone or imagine spending huge amounts of energy on killing people in a war as being a positive act.

He also mentioned one of my favorite human rights activists: Martin Luther King Jr. The guy was saying that under current conditionsrepparttar 118425 ruling fascist 'Empire' is suppressing individual thought and creativity and thatrepparttar 118426 masses ofrepparttar 118427 world had become mindless cattle. He said thatrepparttar 118428 key to evolving a new morally upstanding world society we will need individuals to once again think for themselves and changerepparttar 118429 current economic structures that control life on earth. He used a lot of big economic-type terminology so some of what he said went over my head, but I generally tookrepparttar 118430 guy to be a nice, intelligent person who believed passionately about what he did. He gaverepparttar 118431 impression that people like King arerepparttar 118432 great transformers of beliefs in society, and that only truly awakened souls will be happy when they die.

I try not to take myself or life on Earth too seriously as this has caused many problems for me inrepparttar 118433 past. However, I do think that life and love are very important ideas to focus on when one is growing spiritually. I decided to signrepparttar 118434 group's list and get a little bit more information so as to really make up my opinion about these matters that I know so little about (economics and politics). Here is whererepparttar 118435 story goes strange. I wrote down my name and my email address andrepparttar 118436 fellow asked if I'd put down my phone number as well. I said that as I am a writer I don't like being interrupted byrepparttar 118437 phone ringing and that I'd rather communicate viarepparttar 118438 Internet. This is whenrepparttar 118439 trouble began.

But still no matter how appealing a Blog may seem now a days there are still a few people that does not actually get to know what really a Blog is.

Well, a Blog is a type of website that allows you as its owner to easily put in your messages and publish it online.

It’s more like a journal or a diary type of site, but what’s interesting is it’s not hidden from others like a normal diary where in only you can write and see it.

A Blog is your personal site and your online diary atrepparttar 118419 same time. It is a place where you post something and other may post a comment about your post. It’s actually a great site to publish your own opinion and “what you think” thingy.

Now, with all those features how come it’s also a marketing tool? For some it may seem to be a diary or a journal but for some it is more likely to be a place to advertise products and market them.

Why? Because ofrepparttar 118420 ability of Blogs to be crawled easily by search engines and because ofrepparttar 118421 nature of a Blog that makes it look like an e-campus class that consist of a teacher and students. Advertisers, marketers and even programmers can make use of a Blog to post in messages about their products and users could post in their comments too.
