Many who have passed over to spiritual or nonphysical side are in a better place, for they chose to uplift humanity prior to their incarnation into this life. And you made a soul agreement with them to carry torch of their light, their love, their tremendous sacrifice, so no other shall have to undergo pains they endured to ensure that lasting change would take place among masses. That is why I say: Look for gift in tragedy. The seed is there. The seed for life renewal, for justice, for truth.

You will transform this tragedy so it never happens again. And that is answer to “why.”

Whether it be a new law, a non-profit foundation, a support group, a book, or a cure for a disease, Your purpose will emerge as a result of this tragedy.

Give yourself permission to grieve. Death is a part of life, but death is not end. There is a new beginning.

You will find this new beginning. It may take several years before you find inner strength to go forward. That is okay. Be gentle with yourself. The one you love is as alive on non-physical side right now, as you are today.

I want to assure you that deep pain you bear within will lessen over time. You will adjust. You will be okay, and you will also keep memory of your loved one alive for eternity.

6. Metaphor is a master coaching skill.

In this diverse audience, things that had most impact were visuals (transparencies) and stories. Art, poetry, parables and myths resonate with us all. Metaphor transcends all time, ages and cultures. Use it!

I stood, watching dawn, beside a 35 year old man from Kansas who had never seen an ocean before. It was like looking at world through new eyes. I've seen so many oceans so many times in my life. I think I'll focus on that!
