Jesus told His disciples that ifrepparttar world persecuted Him, they could expectrepparttar 126408 same. We should be encouraged whenrepparttar 126409 world attacks us for our stand on morality. We should never cower and run away inrepparttar 126410 face of opposition. We should always stand up and stand against evil. Our resistance is good. It is necessary.

Again Carter says, “The culture may pressrepparttar 126411 religions to change; butrepparttar 126412 religions, at their best, press back, often in surprising places. And they press back in a way that no other force does, forrepparttar 126413 transcendence of religious belief proposes an answer higher than mere human striving. The Western religions in their traditional forms all sharerepparttar 126414 model of transcendence:repparttar 126415 answers torepparttar 126416 most profound questions are found not in human argument, but inrepparttar 126417 will of God, which exists inrepparttar 126418 world in written form and sometimes in an oral heritage as well.”

Never waver inrepparttar 126419 great commission to tellrepparttar 126420 story of Jesus Christ. He isrepparttar 126421 light ofrepparttar 126422 world, and darkness will never overcomerepparttar 126423 light. Jesus told us that we arerepparttar 126424 salt ofrepparttar 126425 world. Salt will always sting when it breaks through torepparttar 126426 lesions of filth and corruption. Nevertheless, salt is necessary for flavoring, and we addrepparttar 126427 flavoring by our stand againstrepparttar 126428 insipid tastes of indifference. Stand up and be counted. Speak out againstrepparttar 126429 status quo. Remindrepparttar 126430 world often that Jesus Christ came to healrepparttar 126431 world of its sin. Jesus is alive to liftrepparttar 126432 world higher. Jesus is coming again to judgerepparttar 126433 darkness and rewardrepparttar 126434 light. Stayrepparttar 126435 light and salt ofrepparttar 126436 world. Resistrepparttar 126437 evil.

You were made to resistrepparttar 126438 darkness…

Keeprepparttar 126439 faith. Stayrepparttar 126440 course. Jesus is coming again.

The phrase "we ourselves are comforted" takes on an interesting meaning because ofrepparttar tense ofrepparttar 126407 verb. It is inrepparttar 126408 present tense but inrepparttar 126409 passive voice which representsrepparttar 126410 subject as beingrepparttar 126411 recipient ofrepparttar 126412 action orrepparttar 126413 comfort. The phrase is also inrepparttar 126414 indicative mood which is a simple statement of fact; it says it happened therefore we are comforted. The Word of God is wonderful.

2 Tim. 4:2 "Preachrepparttar 126415 word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine." Here exhort paraklaeo cannot be translated correctly and must be rendered beseech or comfort. The same applies to 1 Tim. 2:6 teach and exhort.

In paraklesis or parakleo we have therefore a word which can easily be robbed of its beauty and power byrepparttar 126416 application of an imaginative mechanical rule. Its etymology reveals that it means, "to call to one's side"; its usage shows that according torepparttar 126417 context, it means either; to entreat as in "I beseech", admonish as in "I exhort" and consolation as in "I comfort" and that in each shade of meaning, repparttar 126418 other aspects are present. The beseeching will not be so gentle as to be weak, repparttar 126419 admonition will not be so harsh as to be repugnant, andrepparttar 126420 consolation will not be without comfort.
