The Folly of Problem Solving

The second problem with problem solving is thatrepparttar problem solver’s life self-organizes in such a way that, without realizing it, he livesrepparttar 131440 myth ofrepparttar 131441 Greek hero Hercules. Remember Hercules making a stand againstrepparttar 131442 monstrous Hydra, chopping off its ‘heads’ only to be surprised by more problem ‘heads’ growing at other locations onrepparttar 131443 body. The actions of Hercules andrepparttar 131444 problem solver merely generate more problems – somewhere. Life inrepparttar 131445 round is not enhanced in any way. Our world divides itself into various ‘levels’. There is a predictable ‘level’ to whichrepparttar 131446 laws of science apply and which we are exploiting to provide allrepparttar 131447 items of technology. This isrepparttar 131448 realm ofrepparttar 131449 problem solver, where, unfortunately, his solutions often become new problems. He thus keeps himself in business indefinitely. However, there is also an inherently surprising ‘level’ ofrepparttar 131450 world. This encompassesrepparttar 131451 daily interactions of people and, because this ‘level’ self-organizes in an inherently surprising way, it is magical. Within this everyday ‘level’ of reality it is practical to abandonrepparttar 131452 folly of problem solving and simply chooserepparttar 131453 life you would prefer. Although you must first choose a goal, it would have to emerge as a surprise. For this reason it would be necessary to live creatively using a STRATEGY FOR GETTING NICE SURPRISES. If an advanced and friendly race of people from another planet were to contact us here on earth, repparttar 131454 first thing they would divulge is this magical method. You can also find it revealed in various esoteric texts likerepparttar 131455 New Testament Gospels and in works on Taoism.

The Hidden Law

Written by Tom Horn

Continued from page 1
Another classic example of a living trend is one that is described inrepparttar New Testament Gospels and which grippedrepparttar 131439 life of Jesus. He, unlikerepparttar 131440 ordinary person, appeared to be fully aware ofrepparttar 131441 'power' in which he was caught up and did nothing to save himself fromrepparttar 131442 negative surprise to come. To possess a mind programmed with halfrepparttar 131443 truth makes you available to living trends without your being aware of it. Your days at school furnished you with imperfect knowledge of howrepparttar 131444 world of everyday life functions and you naturally became a sitting duck for passing living trends. These living trends are ‘powers’, ‘forces’ or vortexes of disembodied ‘intent’. Science knows nothing of them and yet they most definitely operate a blind conspiracy againstrepparttar 131445 whole human race, causing individuals and nations to fall from grace. Living trends are just waiting for us to stray across inner thresholds within ourselves. A threshold is crossed when we stray: from ‘preference’ into ‘desire’; from ‘love’ into ‘lust’; from ‘caution’ into ‘fear’; from ‘courage’ into ‘recklessness’; from ‘gentleness’ into ‘weakness’; from ‘freedom’ into ‘anarchy’; from ‘thrift’ into ‘greed’; from ‘respect’ into ‘servility’; from ‘ambition’ into ‘ruthlessness’; from ‘friendship’ into ‘infatuation’; from ‘confidence’ into ‘ego mania’ etc. We don’t choose to cross these invisible lines. Instead, we have diminished responsibility because we do not understandrepparttar 131446 threat posed by living trends. There are limits to all development and as soon as we cross a given threshold we expose ourselves to being drafted by a living trend into a madcap excursion whose destination is a negative surprise. Individuals, nations and species have been driven to extinction because they did not understand this one thing. There is however a single hope and that isrepparttar 131447 putting into practice of an unwritten law that hides behindrepparttar 131448 visible appearance ofrepparttar 131449 world. That law says 'Taprepparttar 131450 world lightly’. It is a hidden law that I personally would like to write acrossrepparttar 131451 sky in great big letters: ‘DO NOT GO BEYOND WHAT IS JUST ENOUGH’. Here endethrepparttar 131452 lesson.
