This parable is usually recited to underscore need for a pluralistic society—all paths lead to God. But Western pluralism is usually tolerant for all beliefs except Christianity. By denying Christians their right of argument is to display very thing that pluralism denounces—intolerance. I agree that there is a place for pluralism in society with respect to matters of taste. On other hand, there is no place for pluralism when it comes to deciding matters of truth, involving a unity of thought. [Ibid, p. 40]

I’m okay with parable about elephant if we recognize that elephant represents absolute truth. It’s okay to move through life with a part of absolute as long as we someday awaken to this truth: our partial hold is only a stepping stone that will ultimately lead us to greater truth which is Jesus Christ. After all it was Jesus who stated that He is only way, only truth, and only life. I have found that once Jesus is embraced with whole heart He liberates, and never does He ensnare or enslave. That’s why New Testament declares, “Ye shall know truth, and truth shall make you free.” Come to Jesus and find freedom from bondage of sin.

However -- I will conclude this article with an interesting fact that presents evidence of a much broader proportion. An NDE is when body ceases to function. In other words, there is absolutely NO life exhibited in human anatomy. It is when person is "clinically dead" that an NDE is mostly experienced. NDE'ers are comprised of all walks of life. All races. All ages. All nationalities. All religions. Atheists. The intelligent and not-so-intelligent. The wealthy and impoverished. World leaders and even hardened criminals. Science has not and cannot explain overwhelming reports and documented cases of NDEs. Due to deluge of NDEs, it is becoming harder and harder to ignore that life after death may INDEED exist.

Whether we ever experience an NDE or when our time comes to pass into "afterlife," I presume it will be then only that we finally discover answer to this quandary. Until then, paradox of near death experience and its life-altering effects on persons who have experienced it, will go unanswered.
