Keeping the victory

We shall examine two dynamic concepts based on 'covenant faithfulness'' onrepparttar part ofrepparttar 148215 covenant people of God, who make uprepparttar 148216 army of Jesus Christ on earth: CLOSENESS: This is in relation with one’s intimacy withrepparttar 148217 Lord (James 4:8,Psalm 27:8 and Psalm 105:4)as one is involved individually and collectively (with other Christians) in spiritual disciplines such prayer, fasting, bible study, praise and worship. Asrepparttar 148218 Lord is jealous (Exodus 20:5) overrepparttar 148219 covenant relationship, one should not allow anything or anyone to come between oneself andrepparttar 148220 Lord to take his central and sacred place in one's heart and life. One should not allow anything or anyone to kill or dampen one’s hunger for God (Psalm 42:1-2 and Psalm 63:1-2). This does not mean that our human relationships are not important, for one is commanded to love one’s neighbour as oneself.

CLOSEDNESS: This is in relation withrepparttar 148221 world system around us. This world system is an ally ofrepparttar 148222 devil andrepparttar 148223 flesh against God and His covenant people ‘who are in this world but not of this world’. Therefore compromise is not permitted (Col. 2: 8, Psalm 1: 1, 2 Tim. 2: 4, Rom. 12:1-2,1 John 2: 15-17, and James 4: 4)! This does not mean that one lives like a hermit in a monastery built in an isolated wilderness! As one reaches out to others withrepparttar 148224 gospel of Christ inrepparttar 148225 love of God, one should walk in wisdom (Col. 4:5) towards them so as to preserve one’s closeness torepparttar 148226 Lord.

These two concepts shown us fromrepparttar 148227 scriptures clearly indicate how one can keeprepparttar 148228 victory, and then go from ‘victory unto victory!

1 Corinthians 15(KJV) verse 57 “But thanks be to God, which giveth usrepparttar 148229 victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

From defeat to victory

Deliverance of God’s people leads to restoration of:-

* Who they are in Christ- ‘…and there shall be holiness…’ (1 Peter 1:15-16;2:9)-a holy nation untorepparttar Lord.

* What they have in Christ-‘… andrepparttar 148214 house of Jacob shall possess their possessions…’ (1 John 4:4,5:4-5)-all things that describe victory.

To experience deliverance, one may have to repent from some specific sin. Where one is not yet a real Christian, one should repent of all one’s sins and humbly receive Jesus Christ as one’s personal Lord and Saviour. In some other cases, one may need spiritual counseling from a mature Christian. There are instances in which one has to renounce any involvement withrepparttar 148215 realm ofrepparttar 148216 occult as well as any lie ofrepparttar 148217 devil that one might have embraced. This demonic lie could be ‘another gospel’ (Gal. 1:6, 2 Cor.11:4) or some ungodly and unscriptural human tradition, religion, or philosophy (Col. 2: 8, 18). However bad or longrepparttar 148218 captivity has beenrepparttar 148219 Lord is more than able to deliver because He isrepparttar 148220 God of all flesh and nothing is too hard for Him!

Psalm 126(KJV) verse 1 “Whenrepparttar 148221 LORD turned againrepparttar 148222 captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.”
