Third, you can learn much of what you need to know by networking with other business people like yourself and reading some basic information. Don't let language of law get to you. You don't have to be a pro, just know enough not to be taken advantage of.

ACCOUNTING

You are beginning to sell a few of your wonderful products. Now that checks are rolling in, are you making any money?

Cash in bank and profits are two TOTALLY different things. The chances are that you are going to do this on your computer so be sure to get a piece of software that fits YOU This is not a one size fits all proposition. Again, you don't have to become a C.P.A. but if you don't know difference between cash and accrual accounting, get some information. And at tax time, see a pro.

The bottom line here is this. It's not enough to have a great idea, be able to write HTML code that makes visitors drool with envy or even have best product at best price.

You must add to these things a BASIC understanding of how and why your business is working or not working. Only then will you be able to KNOW how to succeed not only today but well into future.

A Christian's word is his bond. As a Christian businessperson, your word is your bond. Sales materials and all advertising claims are a direct and concrete form of your word. As an honest businessperson, you cannot ignore true honest behavior in any aspect of your daily and business life. There is no substitute for truth, and there is never a justification for bending truth or for "little white lies." Remember that hiding truth through omission is same as a direct lie. Little white lies do not stay "little" very long and can lead to disaster in your personal or business life.

Honest dealings in business include many things such as offering a good product or service at a fair price. You must strive to offer value to customer for their hard earned money. You have an obligation beyond what law requires to care for and pay your employees in a fair manner. You must always put customer first.

Is this always easy, or least expensive way to conduct business? No, but as a Christian, this is "only" way to do business.

As Paul wrote in his letter to churches in Galatia:

Galatians 1:10 (NIV) Am I now trying to win approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

So what is honest way to conduct business? It is really quite simple:

* Apply sound and proven Christian principles in your relationships with customers and your employees. * Give value for money spent * Meet all promised warranties and guarantees * Be truthful in advertising and promotions * Always tell truth * Treat others as you would like to be treated

Will this assure business success and earning a fortune? No, not by themselves. But being a Christian and living as a Christian is true path to success in life or business, As a true Christian, this is your only option.
