Fairy: You got it. Say that again.
Teen-Kid: I want to be like him. Not 'do' but 'be'.
Fairy: Good. Now, why do you want to be like him?
Teen-Kid: It's
way he is with children, and how he respects
teacher, being
King and all.
Fairy: Yes, you are identifying yourself with his character. You are emulating
traits you feel you have yourself. You have them in you. You can’t ‘get’ them.
Teen-Kid: Do I really become like him, when I pretend?
Fairy: Not really, but you bring out these traits in yourself. You would not see them, if you did not have them.
Teen-Kid: I have those things?
Fairy: You sure do.
Teen-Kid: You said something about a fortune?
Fairy: When you play, you express yourself perfectly. You are being you. The way it is intended is that, while you play, you sort
peas, green in
pot, dry in
trash, until there are no dried-out peas. The green peas are
you, as you were intended to be. The dried-out peas are what you have learnt, or were taught, to
contrary.
Teen-Kid: All green peas. That reminds me of Cinderella.
Fairy: That's a good one. And what did she end up becoming?
Teen-Kid: She married
Prince, of all people, he made her his Princess.
Fairy: You got that upside-down.
Teen-Kid: Oh, I see what you mean: She became a Princess and then got to marry
Prince.
Fairy: There's your fortune.
Teen-Kid: I don't get it. You mean I have to marry a Princess?
Fairy: Stop! You're making me giggle! No!
Teen-Kid: Now, I am playing, and playing, and there's my fortune...How?
Fairy: Become a Prince. The rest will fall into place. Most of all, BE YOUR (green-pea) SELF.
