We live on this earth, but we also live in a sea of electromagnetic and cosmic influences. Our actions are affected by every shift in cosmic atmosphere. Every particle of energy in universe is linked to next. Designing using principles of Vastu Shastra, creates environments that are more open to life supporting influences and more protective against influences that are harmful. Unfortunately, most present day architecture is based on function alone. Even so-called green architecture may only take into account forces of sun, wind, water and climate. It does not, in most instances, account for that which affects us such as planetary, geomagnetic and geopathic forces. Homes and offices that have been designed or corrected using principles of Vastu Shastra are not intended to “conquer” environment but to obey forces of nature.

When we plant a seed it takes all five elements to be in harmony for seed to sprout, grow and be healthy. The proportion of too much or too little of any element, whether it is quality of earth (soil ph), amount of water, wind (air) or sun, will inhibit its growth. Just as balance of five elements affects success in nature, balance inherent in our environment affects our success in world. Vastu takes into account all influences to create an environment in harmony with nature that supports our quality of life, including our success.

We had another client that was a real estate broker. She’d been in business for over 20 years. We did a rectification of her home, which included her home office. Our concerns at Vastu Creations is that Vastu will become just another fad where people utilize it for a short period of time, gain benefits and then lose sight that Vastu brought those benefits. It happens in cultures that when there are times of prosperity and comfort people forget to honor knowledge and ritual that is an inherent part of fabric of their society. Vastu is more than a quick fix fad, its basic premise draws from scientific roots that physical environment is alive. Our bodies, as well as our environment, are made up of five basic elements: earth, water, fire, air and space. When these elements are in balance we experience benefits such as good health, prosperity and peace of mind. When these elements are out of balance, we experience ill health, misfortune and stress.

Honoring our environment as a support in our lives is a different way of thinking. Without this understanding, some people may call themselves Vastu experts and distort this knowledge to make it more marketable to main stream and its essence will be lost and it will be a short-term fad. Knowledge gets distorted by personal interpretation and not staying with scientific principles. There are some visually beautiful books on Vastu that have been recently published in U.S. that are filled with inaccurate information that do not follow these scientific principles. If practiced, people may not get results they’re looking for, be disappointed and feel that Vastu doesn’t work. This is a disservice not only to those attempting to use this information; it also will diminish long lasting popularity of Vastu in U.S.
