Fighting Terrorism With Enchantment - Part 1

I did. I didn't do my television show in NYC that month, as we were asked not to come intorepparttar city and that was a big loss for me. I really enjoy teachingrepparttar 126252 public about positive thinking via television. My show, Recipes for Enchantment, not only meets many of my needs but it stretches me and makes me grow further. Yes, I look forward to doingrepparttar 126253 show this month onrepparttar 126254 17th.

The third portal to Enchantment is Recognizing Pleasure and Joy. It is very normal after a shock, in this case terrorism, to feel not only emotionally flattened, but unable to experience joy. In fact, oftenrepparttar 126255 person doesn't feel entitled to laughter, a good time, etc. For some it is guilt, for others sorrow. Again, this is exactlyrepparttar 126256 opposite of what we need for good mental health.

We are not only entitled to live lives of joy and happiness, we need too! Does this mean everything goes right? Absolutely not. What it does mean is that we permit ourselves to maintain an attitude that encouragesrepparttar 126257 capacity to experience happiness and joy as often as possible. No one has a right to take that away from us! Now isrepparttar 126258 time to fight back! What is fun for you? What do you enjoy? What gives you pleasure? Write some of these things down and plan on doing at least three of them within a couple of weeks. For example, I love shopping and last week I really enjoyed buying a black skirt for fall. It was a small treat but it was getting back to business as usual and felt great!

Please stay with me, as next week we will look at portals four through seven. I hope that you will practice positive thinking and start enjoying your life more and more every day. It is our best defense.

Fairy Tales Can Come True

on vacation in Wales, Barbara met Valerie Woodall. Valerie had worked for an insurance company. She held a high position and was responsible for many employees. When her division closed, Valerie found herself out of a job. Valerie might have spentrepparttar following year searching for another job inrepparttar 126251 same field, but instead chose to make a career change. She scanned her past for events that had brought her happiness, and went back to her love of fairy tales. When she was three years old her grandmother had given her a beautiful book of fairy tales (which she still has). "I got this idea to have a fairy shop. My husband thought I was crazy, that no one would come in. Ignoring him, I found this little shop in a nice arcade and I have been swamped since we opened. Who can resist buying a magic wand or a captured fairy in a bottle for a daughter, a niece or grandchild?"

Valerie had takenrepparttar 126252 fourth step inrepparttar 126253 process of discovering her Enchanted Self. She had researchedrepparttar 126254 practicality of her dream. This takes lots of time and effort. Needless to say, this paid off. Valerie is a wonderful example of someone who scanned her own past, found her latent talents and potential and then didrepparttar 126255 hard work of researching and finding a way to re-invent herself. As a result, she created a new career and a new passion for herself. Most important, she hadrepparttar 126256 courage to try.

It may take a single memory or a string of memories to give yourepparttar 126257 courage to reinvent yourself. As in any worthwhile endeavor it takes practice time and effort. Remember that happiness starts within.
