If you already have a website up, you can ask visitors for their email addresses. You can send them content filled newsletters, tips of week, or even just fill them in on latest deals on your products. This is easy to implement and doesn't take much time once it is set up.

TIP! You should format your messages in a plain text program such as Notepad. Your lines should all be 65 characters or less with a hard return at end of lines. This will make sure that your message is all one block like you intend it to be. Many email programs will not display word wrap correctly. If you rely on it, it will leave your lines ending at unforeseen places.

2. Newsletter Content

I recommend that you give your subscribers valuable information in return for their time spent reading your newsletter. You can offer original articles, reprint articles, a tip of week, or anything else that you can think of. You could even just offer to send out your special offers when they come up if you don't have time to find articles.

3. Web Forms and Sign Up

You might need to setup a form for people to sign up on. Your listing host should give you specifics, but basically you just add some code to you HTML. You can then elaborate with graphics or any text you want.

Another option is to have potential subscribers send a blank email to your list, which will automatically sign them up. For example, to subscribe to my newsletter, you would just send a blank email to:

essentials-subscribe@redlionbooks.com.
