my cybernet life story, repparttar life and trials of an Internet junkie

I sat here this morning in front of a blank screen desperately trying to think of a subject for my next article. It wasn't onlyrepparttar 121646 screen that was blank, my mind started to wander away fromrepparttar 121647 screen and on to random thoughts about Internet life in general and peoples names andrepparttar 121648 stories of how I got to know them started to pop in to my head.

When I realised here was my article with outrepparttar 121649 people I was thinking about my Internet experience would be less enjoyable and less profitable.

So this is going to be my cybernet life story, repparttar 121650 life and trials of an Internet junkie.

I startedrepparttar 121651 same way everyone else did bought a computer with a modem. (actully I bought it with money but it had a modem installed) never usedrepparttar 121652 modem for nearly a year figured if I started to log on torepparttar 121653 Internet it would end up costing me a fortune in telephone charges. Only finally used it whenrepparttar 121654 12 months warranty was nearly up needed to make sure it worked beforerepparttar 121655 warranty ran out. Guess what it had a faultrepparttar 121656 manufactures sentrepparttar 121657 wrong modem cable.

Got that one sorted out and then because I now had an ISP I started to userepparttar 121658 internet, well I surfed around aimlessly, and I was right cost me a fortune in telephone charges.

Then I noticed my ISP allowed me to have my own web site (free of course) so I built my first web page. What do you reckon happened next, got bombarded with spam about how I could earn 1 million in 2 weeks just by following a simple masterplan that would only cost me $50.00 if I purchased it today right now. Fell into that one several times, is all this sounding familiar getting a feeling of deja vous.

Ok now we have setrepparttar 121659 scene, where doesrepparttar 121660 making friends come into it.

One of those emails told me about this super duper new hosting company that would not only host my site but provide me with products of my own complete withrepparttar 121661 sales pages for each product. So I could start making money right away, plus they would pay me, all I had to do was get other people to sign up and I could earn a monthly income forever.

Wow lead me to it signed up right away uploadedrepparttar 121662 sales pages they sent me started to send out free ads submitted to FFA pages free classified sites. Zilch, nothing, (accept a credit card bill)

I stopped in my tracks something was wrong here what should I be doing that I wasn't, this was a good product great sales pages written by experts it had to sell.

Then I noticed that one ofrepparttar 121663 free extras you got was membership to a marketing forum calledrepparttar 121664 Internet Warriors, in desperation decided to log in and take a look.

BINGO here was allrepparttar 121665 information on what worked and why. What didn't work and why, I found people here who were willing to take me byrepparttar 121666 hand and tutor me for free.

I found out that free classifieds and FFA sites used to work but not any more, paid solo ads, and writing your own articles wererepparttar 121667 way to go. Writing my own articles "phew" could I do that, Yes I could well I could try at least.

SEEDS

Inrepparttar real estate business, there is a concept called "farming."

An agent will pick a neighborhood as his farm and work repparttar 121645 farm in various ways. Sometimes he’ll start by mailing out an announcement to each resident to make them aware of his services, his location, and contact information (plowing uprepparttar 121646 fields).

Then he may conduct a "doorknob hanger" program where he hires people to place flyers right onrepparttar 121647 doorknobs, reiteratingrepparttar 121648 information he already mailed out (planting repparttar 121649 first crop of seeds).

The agent’s next step might be to offer to do free appraisals via still another flyer, this one sent throughrepparttar 121650 mail again (wateringrepparttar 121651 first crop).

Now he may decide to do another doorknob flyer, again reiteratingrepparttar 121652 free appraisal offer sent out by mail (cultivating).

Then he does another mailing to each resident, offering a free sales prep analysis to go in and personally point out things that can be done to profitably preparerepparttar 121653 home for repparttar 121654 market (fertilizing).

Thenrepparttar 121655 agent personally drives through his "farm," making notes of any obvious home improvements that need to be done, along withrepparttar 121656 addresses of those properties.

Back atrepparttar 121657 office, he then writes personal letters to each of repparttar 121658 addresses where obvious improvements are needed, if they haven’t already responded to his recent mailing (weeding).

He keeps on tending his farm, planting, watering, cultivating, fertilizing, and weeding, rain or shine. In other words, he keeps his name and services foremost in his prospects’ minds, so that when one of them does think of selling, guess who they are most likely to call?
