~ Rejoice and Be Thou Ravished ~Written by Dot McGinnis
~ Rejoice and Be Thou Ravished ~“Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with wife of thy youth. Let her be as loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love." Proverbs 5:18-19 When interpreting Scripture, we must always keep in mind that manners and customs, in Bible days, differed greatly from those we have today. For example, when dealing with what some would consider “delicate subjects”, they did so freely; readily discussing sexual and personal matters in mixed company, and often in presence of their children. Their discussions were done in an open manner; with a frankness and a bluntness that would make many people, in today’s society, blush. We need to keep these things in mind when interpreting verses like those above. Verse 18 begins, “Let thy fountain be blessed.” The Hebrew word for fountain is maw-kore’ and way it is used here is as a euphemism, for female pudenda; female genitals or sexual organs. This verse goes on to say, “and rejoice with” (not apart from, but together with), “the wife of your youth.” This is talking about sexual act, which is to be a joyous experience for both partners, within a marriage. It is talking here about marriage and marital relationships, not premarital, or extra-marital relationships. Verse 19 says, “Let her be as loving hind,” (female deer) “and pleasant roe” (wild climbing goat). The Hebrew word for loving is ah’hab, which speaks of affection; sexual or otherwise. Pleasant or khane means well-favored, or gracious; precious, an object of beauty.

Which of you convinceth me of sin? by Anthony Smith John 8:42-8:49 Which of you convinceth me of sin? There are some who ask, ”Where do you receive your inspiration to write messages from God?” And answer I give them is some what unorthadoxed. Most of my inspiration comes from hatred of this world for truth. Some times it comes from hatred from Christians, that become offended by truth of Scripture. The Bible is not a book of conciliation but a book of truths. God offers no compromise in His word, but He offers reasoning between Him and us. Jesus knew that there would be many that would become offended by truth just as when Pharisees came against Him in John 8:42-49. But this did not stop Him from telling truth. There are many verses in Scripture that I remember but these next stand out most. Matthew 13:57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. Matthew 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. James 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive greater condemnation. Our condemnation comes from many sources, lost, world, Satan, establishment of mans science, and yes, sometimes from Christians and Church. Why are we as ministers of Gospel condemned so harshly? “For in many things we offend all.” We offend because we use word of God to rebuke, reprove and teach, word of Truth. Call no Man Father, No drunker-ed shall enter into Kingdom of Heaven, Homo-sexuality is an abomination to God, Who has correct intrepretation, ect, ect. James 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle whole body. There is no perfect man, no one who can bridle whole body, nor take controll of tong. I’ve never seen any one walk on water nor perform any myrical. A minister is not a crowd pleaser but an ambasidor of Christ. He’s not a comedian but a messenger of truth. He’s not a puppet but a master with ordination from God. He’s is not an orator of just Good news but a sword of righteousness who preaches salvation and punishment of Hell Fire and Brimstone to those who refuse to believe. A minister is not a baby sitter for your salvation but an a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. So you say, ”If a Minister is not a, crowd pleaser, comedian, puppet, baby sitter or an orator,Then what is a Minister?” Romans 13:4 For he is minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not sword in vain: for he is minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Which of you convinceth me of sin?
