Where Will You Be in 5 Years?

Written by Daniel N. Brown

Where will you be in 5 years? Have you thought about it? I’ve heard it said that in 5 years you will berepparttar sum total ofrepparttar 122873 books you read andrepparttar 122874 people you associate with. What books are you reading and what kind of people are you associating with?

I have a friend who is into a particular soap opera and he says it doesn’t affect him emotionally. I disagree very strongly. I know this soap well, for I was addicted to it myself! After watching it every day, for about 6 years, I was usually left in a paralyzed state of mind. My friend is so accustomed to his state of mind that I know he doesn’t even realize it.

We have to be very careful what we subject ourselves to. Everything has an influence! I believe we must protect our minds. Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it arerepparttar 122875 issues of life."

I believe what we focus on is attracted into our lives. For example; if a woman is reading romance novels, she may view her real world as lacking romance, if she is comparing her life to a fantasy. Harboring thoughts of lack is not good! The same with watching scary movies. These shows leave a person with a sense of fear. The Bible says over and over… “Fear not!” I believe fear is nothing more than faith inrepparttar 122876 devil.

Consider the Conditions You Are In

Written by Daniel N. Brown

Considerrepparttar condition you are in. Think about your life. Your job, your finances, your health, your relationships. Do you ever wonder what brought aboutrepparttar 122872 conditions of each area? How much of it was God? How much of it was other people? How much of it was you?

I believe inrepparttar 122873 law of attraction. Jesus said, “Whatsoever things you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them.” (Mark 11:24) The conditions you are in are not by accident.

This concept goes pretty deep and I don’t claim to have allrepparttar 122874 answers. All I know is whatrepparttar 122875 bible says and what I draw from my own life experiences. I have had some real tough times in my past, and probably just like you, I made excuses and cast blame on God and other people. I playedrepparttar 122876 role ofrepparttar 122877 victim and rendered myself completely helpless in many situations.

One day it hit me when my pastor said something in a sermon. It caused me to finally admit to myself that I had made some bad decisions. I don’t even remember what he said and it doesn’t matter. It was a “God thing.” Many times, God speaks through people and this was one of those times.
