An expert in time management was speaking to a group of business students when he decided to do an experiment. He pulled out a large mason jar, a dozen fist-sized rocks and carefully placed them, one by one, into jar. When no more rocks would fit inside, he asked, "Is this jar full?" Everyone in class said, "Yes."He reached under table and pulled out a bucket of gravel. The instructor then poured gravel in jar, shook it and asked, "Is this jar full? " By this time class was on to him. They replied: "Probably not," Next, he reached under table and brought out a bucket of sand. He started dumping sand in jar until all space between rocks was filled. Once more, he asked question. "Is this jar full?" "No" class shouted.

In olden days, bread baking was a daily routine. Many times a loaf of warm, fresh from oven bread, with a topping of fresh-churned butter was a meal - in times of hardship, in times of scarcity. Today, food industry provides a mind-boggling array of bread products - your choice, to mix and match to your heart's content. They did, however, with all magic of science, leave out "just a little". That little is aroma or scent of fresh-baking bread, a hint of spice, and texture of kneaded dough that provided not only sustenance but a form of "therapy" for baker. It wouldn't take much to take a step back in time and give your family and friends that old-fashioned, yet timely, welcoming aroma that just brings them to kitchen, awakens even most sluggish appetite, and smiles - well, that is true "icing" on bread.
