A guru is a teacher. On internet a guru is someone who has a lot of experience and has made grade, ie. He/She has set up a business that is financially successful and is willing to share experience with anyone who is interested.

Are you a guru? If not please read on.

The majority of internet gurus are only too happy to teach. Becoming a guru in true sense of word.

Pick a guru. There are at least a dozen who not only publish a newsletter with articles showing some of tricks-of-the-trade but have also published ebooks showing in detail best way to start and run a business.

Learn from experts. There are hundreds of people out there who purport to be experts in ecommerse. Most of them have just read a few books and composed their own book comprised of second hand information. You may ask “What’s wrong with that?’ it’s same information written in a different style.”

There is just one problem. Each of real gurus has made a success of his/her on-line business in his/her own way. If you follow instructions of one particular guru, there is a good reason to believe that you will become successful as well.

On other hand, an instruction book comprised of a mixture of different techniques can cause confusion and fail completely in its purpose.

I am not a guru. You may well ask “In that case, why are you writing this article?”

A good question. I have been on internet for a little over five years. Three years ago I decided to start my own business selling information products on-line.

You want to make some money? Sell something. The biggest seller on net is information, or info-products as they are often called. Info-products cover a wide range of sales, from small scraps of time sensitive information, through news-sheets and regular newsletters, all way up to full sized electronic books.

The beauty of it is that there is no stock-holding to bother about. You don’t need to fill spare room with mounds of paperbacks. All that you need is a little space on your hard disc to store files and a way of passing on copies of these files to your customers.

You keep original to sell and sell again. Once you obtain right to sell, you never have to order new stock of that particular item. If information is something that you have written yourself, you own copyright. It is yours to do with as you wish.

The easiest way to get started is to join an affiliate program. There are some good ones out there. Be selective. Don’t jump in with two big feet with first one that you see. Choose something that you are interested in. Something that you would like to own and read. It is always easier to sell something expensive that you like, rather than something cheap that is of no real interest to you. If item on offer is real value for money, price is of no consequence. It will sell.
