Web Design Tips To Boost Your Online SalesWritten by Andy Best
The way you design your web site affects your visitors’ online experience. As each visitor to your site is a potential customer, easier they find your web site to use and more they enjoy being on it, higher chance that they will make a purchase. Therefore, a well designed web site really CAN boost your sales! In this article I’ll share my five favorite web design tips to help you increase your online sales. Tip 1: Choose Your Colors Carefully The colors that you use will determine how your web site comes across to your visitors. Dull colors will make your site seem plain and boring whilst overly bright colors can make it seem chaotic and unprofessional. Red and Yellow draws eye in. Therefore it can be a good idea to use these colors for banners and adverts that you want your visitors to focus on. However, use these colors sparingly because they cause eye strain which means that visitors won’t want to look at your web site for long periods of time. Tip 2: Avoid Slow Loading Web Pages The amount of time that your site takes to download is critical. If it takes too long to download, you’ll lose potential customers who can‘t be bothered to wait. There are things you can do to speed up how long your site takes to download. Images and media are worst culprits when it comes to slowing down your loading time. I advise you to avoid using any kind of multimedia on your web site and if you want to use images, try and keep them small and to a minimum.

For example, Lynette Fisk, Information Services Manager at CCT/CYT in San Diego, says that, “As a growing, national organization CYT (Christian Youth Theater) needs a branded, professional image and Custom Apparel E-Store is helping us build that image. However, we want to be a great youth theater program, not a retailer. Based in San Diego, we have branches from Spokane to Chicago to Atlanta who will all benefit from our CYT Custom Apparel E-Store.” “CYT now has capability of providing branded, customized contemporary apparel to branches across country - without headaches or hassles of filling orders, shipping packages or maintaining an expensive inventory! Even with whiz-bang technology available to us today, there is no way CYT would have built so many options into our own national website so quickly. Cuda Apparel has been easy to work with, excited about our program and creative in their approach to helping us. I can't wait to see what happens next!” Cuda’s Custom Apparel E-Stores allow businesses, organizations, and schools to sell garments adorned with their logos year-round with no inventory or order fulfillment costs. There is a small set-up fee to activate and create E-Stores, but after that, E-Store owners accrue no additional charges and receive a percentage of gross sales from site. Ron Turner, Recruitment Coordinator at Upper Columbia Academy, notes “The Custom Apparel E-Store is a great way for any school program in need of fundraising to generate ongoing income.”
