WHAT TO DO TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR LIFE

Written by Craig Lock

Firstly, ask yourselfrepparttar following questions:

What do you want out of life?

What do you value most? What does your life say to you? Which means to say: What has beenrepparttar 124111 purpose of it so far? Ever thought about it? Funny question for all of us when one day just seems to drift into another. What ideals do you aspire to? What is your core value (or values). In other words, ask yourself this: what isrepparttar 124112 single most important value I stand for in my life, my core reason for being?

Write your answers down on a blank sheet of paper. Then askrepparttar 124113 person nearest and dearest to you to dorepparttar 124114 same. Make a quiet time when you won't be disturbed. Kickrepparttar 124115 kids out, don't kickrepparttar 124116 kid's be- hinds. Spend this uninterrupted time while you talk about your lives together: your values, goals and dreams - for yourself and forrepparttar 124117 family (if you're get- ting on like me). If single, no worries! Lucky bugger! This is a great opportunity for you to spend quality time sharing your innermost fears, goals and dreams with someone you love. If you are single, just love yourself (my motto is: 'fall in love with yourself and be sure of a life-long romance'). You can also find out what those nearest and dearest to you really want out of life and from you. What are their expectations of you? Usually very different from what you think they are! Ask yourself: Are you living out your values? Do you have a dream? If so, do you value your dream? Is it that important to you? How important? What steps do you need to take in order to achieve it? You may have to ask for help from others, because not all goals can be achieved by you alone.

The Bible said that man must have a vision ("Without a visionrepparttar 124118 people perish"). The famous painter Jean Monet said that there are two kinds of people: those who want to be someone, or those who do something. Do you want to be one of them or not? Nothing wrong with that at all, if that's what you truly want out of life. Just to be an inconspicuous ordinary person. Those people are generally far happier thanrepparttar 124119 achievers who are continually striving towards success with great hopes and dreams. Great! Except don't repeat repparttar 124120 word 'great', dumbo. I teach that in my creative writing course.

TIME MANAGEMENT (PART ONE)

Written by Craig Lock

GET MORE FROM LIFE EACH DAY

* Focus on one day at a time. * Liverepparttar moment. * Forget yesterday and look forward to tomorrow. If you are guilty about what happened yesterday, or are anxious about what might happen tomorrow, your energy will be dissipated. * Plan your work, then work your plan. * What good and bad habits have you developed? Reinforcerepparttar 124110 good daily patterns and breakrepparttar 124111 bad. * Be an "early bird."

Habits start as consciously made decisions, eg.. what time to get up. Once established, good habits become second nature. Success isrepparttar 124112 result of habit. It depends not so much on doingrepparttar 124113 unusual, but on doingrepparttar 124114 commonplace unusually well.

DON'T PROCRASTINATE. DO IT NOW. Don't confuse being busy with working efficiently. Activities can be tension-relieving, not goal achieving. By concentrating on fewer, priorities regularly on a fixed schedule, you can achieve a lot more in less time.

IS TIME THE PROBLEM OR ARE YOU? Draw up a daily "to do" list. Rank priority tasks (the important few), as well asrepparttar 124115 trivial many. This allows you to focus on fewer things and achieve more. Sort into A, B & C's

A's are important and urgent. Must do today. B's are important and not urgent. Want to do today. C's are not important. Today, if possible or delegate.

Use this system to cover work, personal and family items. This allows you to strike a balance in your daily living. In addition, you can schedulerepparttar 124116 daily activities required to achieve your objectives. By giving high visibility to your major goal, you can keep your mental energies concentrated. Rememberrepparttar 124117 20/80 principle: 20% of your key activities will give you 80% of your results or payoff and 80% of your work (or clients) will produce 20% of your profits.
