WHAT?S IT ALL MEAN? Gaining A New Perspective On The ?Stuff? In Your Life

Onrepparttar surface, organizing is about time, space, money, and stuff. Underneath, it?s about inner clarity, strength, andrepparttar 130841 choices we make every day. When life is disorganized and complicated onrepparttar 130842 outside, very often it?s a reflection of what?s going on inside a person...a barometer of sorts. Bottom line is that people are different, circumstances are different and I certainly don?t claim to know it all. But there is one thing I do know, and that is this: Stuff is stuff.

Like an anchor torepparttar 130843 past, your stuff holds you in its grip, never letting you fully look torepparttar 130844 future, to what could be. Instead it forces you to look at, and to live among what was, what might have been, or what will never be. Stuff is not love, it?s not anger, it?s not sadness or grief. It?s not happy or sad, it?s not good or bad. It has no feelings or thoughts, it can?t laugh with you or cry with you, and it doesn?t get hurt when you throw it againstrepparttar 130845 wall in frustration.

It?s not your friend or your enemy. It holds no opinions or grudges or judgments. Because it?s not human. You see, your stuff is just like everyone else?s. It?s paper and ink and plastic. It?s smooth or rough, soft or solid, it?s glass and wood and leather. It?s colored fabric and wax and metal and stone. It means nothing but what you tell it to mean. And in this very fact lies freedom!

SEVEN STEPS TO SIMPLICITY Easy Ways To Calm Life's Chaos

We are born simple beings. As we grow, we attract more and more "stuff" and chaos into our lives. In order to get back to a level of simplicity as an adult, you must actively choose it and make changes to achieve it. Here are seven ways to create simplicity in your life:

1. Identify what is causing chaos in your life. Too many activities, too many "voluntary obligations," too many priorities, too much debt, toxic relationships, too much clutter in your home or workplace...all these things can be raising your chaos level. The first step is to identify what is adding chaos, and is NOT adding a significant amount of joy, happiness or value to your life.

2. Turn offrepparttar television. The average American watches in excess of 20 hours of television per week. With this in mind, turn offrepparttar 130839 T.V. one night a week to have quiet time to yourself or with your family. Don't worry...the news will continue to happen even if you're not watching it!

3. Stop spending time with toxic people. This is a tough one, but well worth it. Refuse to spend your precious time and energy on those constantly negative people in your life. Life is short. Spend it with those who love, support, encourage and inspire you!

4. Take a stand atrepparttar 130840 holidays. I know people who dreadrepparttar 130841 holidays because ofrepparttar 130842 tremendous stress involved. If it'srepparttar 130843 gift-giving tradtion that causes you stress, one way to lessen it is to have a policy that you will abide by. You get to decide what that policy will be. It may be no gifts for anyone, yourself included, Pollyanna name trading, gifts only for children under 16, a spending limit per person, or whatever you come up with which will work for you. Whatever you decide, let your friends and family know well in advance ofrepparttar 130844 holidays and tell them that you'll be sticking to it. They may not believe it at first, but you will reaprepparttar 130845 rewards when you find yourself enjoyingrepparttar 130846 holiday season again. 5. Cut your hair. Sound silly? How much time, effort and aggravation is it to deal with your hair every day? If your hair is high maintenance, consider a new style that will take less time and effort. Any stylist worth his salt will be able to give you a hair design that will fit your face and hair type and will still be easy to live with.
