Treachery in the Midst of the Land

Written by Maureen Metcalf

The term Scripture uses to describerepparttar activities of those who attempt to sell-out Israel comes to mind. "Treacherous!"

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is being underhanded, deceptive, manipulative, and threatening. In other words, "treacherous" against his own citizens and Land! He is giving-in torepparttar 149707 Palestinian' demands, and is turning Israeli Land over torepparttar 149708 enemies of G_d and of Israel. Daily, we hear of incriminating information as to howrepparttar 149709 Disengagement Plan came about, andrepparttar 149710 terrible manner in which it is to be implemented. Daily, and now hourly, innocent people are being threatened with arrests, incarceration, intimidation; and underrepparttar 149711 latest directive issued from Sharon, "whatever it takes," which could include violence, and possibly civil war. And, his stance is against innocent men, women, and children, descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, who loverepparttar 149712 Torah, have faith inrepparttar 149713 L_RD, and loverepparttar 149714 Land. Treachery!

The prophet Isaiah speaksrepparttar 149715 Word ofrepparttar 149716 L_RD for this very time!

Isaiah 24:13 When thus it shall be inrepparttar 149717 midst ofrepparttar 149718 land amongrepparttar 149719 people, there shall be asrepparttar 149720 shaking of an olive tree, and asrepparttar 149721 gleaning grapes whenrepparttar 149722 vintage is done. Isa 24:14 They shall lift up their voice, they shall sing forrepparttar 149723 majesty ofrepparttar 149724 LORD, they shall cry aloud fromrepparttar 149725 sea. Isa 24:15 Wherefore glorify yerepparttar 149726 LORD inrepparttar 149727 fires, evenrepparttar 149728 name ofrepparttar 149729 LORD God of Israel inrepparttar 149730 isles ofrepparttar 149731 sea. Isa 24:16 Fromrepparttar 149732 uttermost part ofrepparttar 149733 earth have we heard songs, even glory torepparttar 149734 righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me!repparttar 149735 treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, repparttar 149736 treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously. Isa 24:17 Fear, andrepparttar 149737 pit, andrepparttar 149738 snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant ofrepparttar 149739 earth. Isa 24:18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth fromrepparttar 149740 noise ofrepparttar 149741 fear shall fall intorepparttar 149742 pit; and he that cometh up out ofrepparttar 149743 midst ofrepparttar 149744 pit shall be taken inrepparttar 149745 snare: forrepparttar 149746 windows from on high are open, andrepparttar 149747 foundations ofrepparttar 149748 earth do shake. Isa 24:19 The earth is utterly broken down, repparttar 149749 earth is clean dissolved, repparttar 149750 earth is moved exceedingly. Isa 24:20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; andrepparttar 149751 transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. Isa 24:21 And it shall come to pass in that day, thatrepparttar 149752 LORD shall punishrepparttar 149753 host ofrepparttar 149754 high ones that are on high, andrepparttar 149755 kings ofrepparttar 149756 earth uponrepparttar 149757 earth. Isa 24:22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered inrepparttar 149758 pit, and shall be shut up inrepparttar 149759 prison, and after many days shall they be visited. Isa 24:23 Thenrepparttar 149760 moon shall be confounded, andrepparttar 149761 sun ashamed, whenrepparttar 149762 LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Noticerepparttar 149763 shaking ofrepparttar 149764 olive tree, Israel, takes place in "the midst ofrepparttar 149765 land amongrepparttar 149766 people." That means, Israel is a national entity whenrepparttar 149767 treachery takes place.

The righteous are those who have repented, loverepparttar 149768 L_RD, and love Israel, and sing songs of praise torepparttar 149769 L_RD from amongrepparttar 149770 nations. This includes both Jews and righteous Gentiles. This cry from among those who loverepparttar 149771 L_RD with all their hearts is being heard from among both Jews and many Christians, who take G_d's revealed Word as eternal truth. But meanwhile, repparttar 149772 treacherous are dealing out their treachery even while this upholding ofrepparttar 149773 truth in praise and glory torepparttar 149774 L_RD is going forth.

The context here in Isaiah is not refering to ancient Israel, but rather refers to our time, because there were few righteous to glorifyrepparttar 149775 L_RD in Israel in ancient times, ( that's whyrepparttar 149776 L_RD judged them,) and certainly far fewer amongrepparttar 149777 other nations. The Word ofrepparttar 149778 LORD had not gone out to all nations in ancient times, because Israel was disobedient torepparttar 149779 L_RD at that time. Butrepparttar 149780 Word ofrepparttar 149781 L_RD has reached all nations in our time, and many glorify Him with singing from among all peoples.

But, we must also noticerepparttar 149782 context describes conflict, likely excalating into world-wide war, where all nations will be involved. Butrepparttar 149783 L_RD Himself will bringrepparttar 149784 victory, and will reign in mount Zion, before allrepparttar 149785 "ancients gloriously," indicating there will be a great resurrection and ingathering when Messiah comes.

There are two wars described in this passage in Isaiah chapter 14. The first conflict is described in verses 16-17. The second in verses 18-23. These come about primarily because ofrepparttar 149786 treachery committed by Israel's andrepparttar 149787 world's leaders.

It would appear Ariel Sharon and his henchmen have possibly ushered-inrepparttar 149788 treachery!

But,repparttar 149789 victory will berepparttar 149790 L_RD's!! No matter what transpires, keep your faith inrepparttar 149791 L_RD strong, because He hasrepparttar 149792 last word!! Israel will be established forever, and ALLrepparttar 149793 Land of Covenant will be inhabited byrepparttar 149794 sons of Jacob! The time of Jacob's Trouble may be onrepparttar 149795 horizon, but this time will also be short! The settlers will settle permanently in Yesha!

Should Christians Judge?

Written by David Ben-Ariel

The typical liberal misunderstanding ofrepparttar Christian religion is that Christians shouldn't judge anybody. This misinterpretation comes from a superficial reading of Rabbi Yashua's (Jesus') teaching where He said: "Judge not, that ye be not judged..." (Lk. 7:1-5). But when read IN CONTEXT it's understood that God will hold us to a standard as strict as that which we demand of others.

All judgment must be tempered with mercy. Jesus clearly taught that we can see others imperfections (the "mote" in their eye) and help to remove it ONCE we have first gottenrepparttar 149689 "beam" out of our own eye. The purpose is to help and not hurt: constructive criticism, not self-righteousness or sinister motivations.

There is a great difference between judging an act and condemning a person to Gehenna (Hell) fire. Only God truly knowsrepparttar 149690 thoughts and intents, and potential, of any individual. When God delivered to Moses various statutes and laws forrepparttar 149691 nation of Israel, He commanded that they judge and condemn to death some individuals for certain infractions.

When Jesus pardonedrepparttar 149692 woman caught in adultery, He didn't excuse her actions but admonished her to "go and sin no more" (John. 8:11). He acknowledged it was a sin worthy of death, but obviously forgave her for God's greater purpose, discerning a truly repentant attitude.

She didn't argue about what technically constituted sin, lie about it, or threaten to vigorously go after her accusers. Jesus had let their own guilty thoughts shame them into leavingrepparttar 149693 scene and leaving her alone withrepparttar 149694 Savior (where we must all ultimately appear).
