1) You must put yourself into right mindset. Don't think of your new efforts at weight loss as trying to do certain things every day. See your self living a new lifestyle, a new lifestyle that naturally includes behavior conducive to positive changes in your health and fitness levels. You transition into this new lifestyle by makng adjustments to your daily habits until these habits are in alignment with goals you are aiming for.
2) Find an exerise partner. It can be a friend, a co-worker, or a family member. Why is this important? An exercise partner is a tremendous source of support. A partner is crucial on those days when you really don't feel up to exercising. Unless you are sick, a good partner won't let you slack and likewise your partner will need you to pull them up when they are not up for workout. You being needed is an indirect but important type of support. With an exercise partner comes element of accountability, which subconciously reinforces your committment to your quest.
3) Have a baby or get a puppy. These two strategies work in same manner. I write about this one from first/second hand experience. My wife, Jeri-Jo, gave birth to our daughter, Darah, nine months ago. Today, she weighs less than she weighed before she got pregnant. What is mechanism here? Jeri-Jo claims, "With Darah to care for, my mind is focused on her and her needs. Don't get me wrong, I'm not at risk for malnutrition, but I don't eat out of boredom any more simply because there is always something to do. The day flies by and I don't have time to snack on foods that cause weight gain."

Since Dr Malcolm Peet, a consultant psychiatrist at Sheffield swallow court hospital released his findings about effects of Ethyl Epa and its effects on people suffering from depression and low moods, many other studies have been performed using Ethyl Epa to help treat depression and related disorders. The vast majority of studies that have been performed consistently confirmed that Ethyl Epa, a natural substance found in omega 3 fish oil, helps relieve depression and low moods.
The idea that high grade omega 3 EPA could be used to help combat depression and other related disorders came from late Dr Horribin, who as early as 1970s was a pioneer in lipid research involving brain and central nervous system. Since findings at Sheffield, studies have been conducted round world, Harvard university 1999, London Hammersmith hospital 2001 and Israel Ben Gurion University 2002 to name but a few.
EPA As Part Of A Healthy Diet
EPA is part of Omega 3 chain of ecosanoids and is most commonly found in fatty fish such as fresh salmon, mackerel, pilchards and sardines. Over past 100 years diet patterns of most people in west has shifted dramatically to include far more hydrogenated oils and Trans fatty acids (bad fats) this is largely due to increased consumption of fast food and ready made meals. Even people who think they eat a healthy diet consume way too much omega 6 and not enough omega 3.
Researchers have recently found that a diet high in Tranís fatty acids could affect mood stabilizing hormones within brain, this is thought to be due to saturated fats slowing down messaging system within brain, should this happen then onset of depression could occur.
How Does EPA Work?
While benefits of high grade EPA have been well documented, scientific community still donít know exactly how EPA works on brain, one theory released by Dr Basant Puri is that it eases passage of signals over tiny gaps in brain called synapses. Another theory was that high Grade Epa actually worked similar to lithium and had anti depressant properties of its own.
Until recently it was widely accepted in medical community that once a human reached maturity that adult brain could not grow anymore, in a recent paper just released by Dr Puri his findings show other wise. Dr Puri scanned a 21 year patient before treating him with high grade Pure Epa, after course of treatment he rescanned young man only to find that grey matter of brain had increased in size.
