There were three friends living on a lovely estate,on fruit tree lived bat;in villa lived cat;and in a hole under villa lived rat. One day they decided to trade places since they were bored with their individual daily routines. The rat took place of bat and had a hard time getting to top of tree. Once at top,the rat felt on top of world,then suddenly hawk on its daily patrol sighted rat and swooped down to make a kill. The rat barely escaped by dashing frightfully into a hole in old tree branch. The cat managed to get into hole leading to rat's home,and it initially felt like safest place in world. Thereafter it realised that it was too dark,cold,and stinking. To make matters worse,it was nearly caught for lunch by ferret. The bat seemed to inherit best lot of them all-there was enough to eat but home of cat seemed too bright and warm. It managed to escape being shot dead by angry master of villa. Within only an hour,the friends realised folly of their decisions,and resorted to their respective callings in life. In computer world,viruses have led to colossal waste of resources for many who have both home or office computers,even corporate bodies in industrialised world. Therefore several anti-virus software are available which need to be installed so as to scan,detect,repair,quarantine and/or delete viruses. According to Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary,a computer virus is defined as 'a computer programme or part of a computer programme which can make copies of itself and is intended to prevent computer from working normally' Proverbs 4:23(KJV) "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are issues of life." On issue of divine destiny,'the viral war' is so real with devastating effect on mankind both individually and corporately. This viral war takes place in human heart/mind against God and his purposes for any person or people since fall of man in garden of Eden. In this context,a 'virus' is anything that works against God and his purposes for any person or people. To be more specific,a 'virus' is anything that makes one to doubt,ignore,deny,or disobey God and his plans for one's life. When these 'viruses' are not properly handled,they lead to people living and dying unfulfilled! These enemies of divine destiny have been discussed briefly in an earlier article 'the open door'. These 'viruses' are propagated through diabolical trio known as devil(the thief);the flesh(the sinful nature);and world system in which we all live. They can even infect a person from point of conception! This invasion of 'viruses' is both aggressive and cunning,using various media! Just as computer viruses have names,these 'viruses' have names like 'Fear','Doubt',and 'Bitterness'. It is interesting to note while fear is part of body's natural defence system,it is when it takes over a person's life(Prov.29:25) that it becomes a 'virus'!
