The Work of the Comforter

John 14:16,17. And I will prayrepparttar 126491 Father, And He shall give you another Comforter...the Spirit of truth.

John 14:26. Butrepparttar 126492 Comforter,repparttar 126493 Holy Ghost, Whomrepparttar 126494 Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things.

John 15:26. But whenrepparttar 126495 Comforter is come, Whom I will send unto you fromrepparttar 126496 Father, (the Spirit of truth), Who proceedeth fromrepparttar 126497 Father, He shall testify of Me.

John 16:7-11. Nevertheless I tell yourepparttar 126498 truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for it I go not away,repparttar 126499 Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, 1 will send Him unto you. And when He is come, He will reproverepparttar 126500 world of sin, and of righteousness; and of judgment: Of sin because they believe not on Me; Of .righteousness, because 1 go to My Father, and ye see Me no more; Of judgment, becauserepparttar 126501 Prince of this world is judged.

These references leave no doubt as torepparttar 126502 identity of The Comforter. The Lord speaks of 3 distinct Persons, Himself,repparttar 126503 Father, and The Comforter. These 3 Persons are God, but no 2 of them can be equated with each other. Now figure this out. See note on Deuteronomy 6:4 in Companion Bible.

Many years ago a great theologian tried to prove that reprove in John 16:8 really meant enlighten. However there was no proof that such could berepparttar 126504 meaning. It is reprove or convict.

A New School Year

Depending on where you live school will be starting this month or next month. A new school year is usually exciting and scary atrepparttar same time. Most children won’t admit it, but they are ready to get back to school and see their friends. As much as I love not having a rigid schedule inrepparttar 126488 summer, I do missrepparttar 126489 structure ofrepparttar 126490 school year. We get up later inrepparttar 126491 summer and go to bed later as well.

When you think of a new School Year what are your first thoughts? Back to school shopping for clothes and school supplies. A big transition from elementary to middle school, or to high school, even college. A new teacher who you heard is strict or not strict enough? There can often be lots of anxiety with a new school year for parents as well as children.

Can I offer a few suggestions for your back to school list? Remember whose children they are. Yes they are our children, but they are God’s children. He cares about them and loves them more than we ever could. Pray for your children. Pray for their academics, choice of friends, study
