The Secret to a Thriving PracticeWritten by David Wood
The Secret to a Thriving Practice Body of Article Are you busy building a web site? Would you say brochures are answer? Business cards? Advertising? Many coaches you try this route in beginning, only grow their practice very, very slowly. They do what all marketing books say. But why isn't their business booming? I'm going to give you answer right here in this article. The Vicious Cycle 99% of coaches lack confidence. And rightly so! It can be very daunting to put on hat of 'coach' and offer to change people's lives. Building a web site or designing a brochure are great down track. But while you're still scared to coach - you'll subconsciously find a way of turning away clients. Here's vicious cycle: Having little or no clients which means no exp'erience, which leads to a reluctance to extend invitation for trial sessions, which leads to no clients, which leads to no exp'erience, and so on. The Secret The answer is quite simple - forget money, forget your pride, and get your experience up - no matter what it takes. And fastest way to do that? "Coach 50 Clients!". Free, paid, 1 session, 1 week, 3 months - I don't care. Just get those initial sessions. As I explain in depth in my speech, choose your target list of likely prospects, craft an invitation that feels comfortable you, and do your initial, exploratory sessions - yes, with 50 people! Each client, fee or no f'ee, 3 months or 30 minutes, is "gold" to you. And I'll tell you why... What Every Client (or Practice Client) Gives You •the feeling you are really a coach, not a fraud •a practice that looks busier •the potential for more referrals •free training •more and more confidence with each client •possible revenue, either right away or down track •a testimonial Starting Out! It's O.K. to be nervous when you are starting out, but do those sessions anyway. The next ones will seem easier. So, coach a lot! Even if you are doing sessions for free, you will be gaining confidence and practice to allow yourself to start charging for your work. You will see how you are helping others. You will be able to convince yourself of importance of coaching in people's lives.

How I Got 1600 Subscribers Last Month Body of Article Why get subscribers? Because it's a powerful way to let your community get to know you, to build a relationship ,and stay in touch. If your selling a product or a service, it usually takes several instances of contact before someone will buy from you. Enter Ezine! I sent out an update recently to my R & D team mentioning I got 1600 new subscribers last month, and one member asked how I managed it. I thought I'd share different methods with you, too. (By way, to join my R&D team which is now 1,000 strong, just send a blank email to david38-28997@autocontactor.com) Free Web Traffic Sub'mit your sites to major search en'gines, and if you have crafted your pages properly, you will come up near top when people search for your key words. E.g. 'life coaching', 'motivational speaker', 'corporate training'. Save time and get better results by getting a good software program to do your work for you, and it will train you as you go. There are certain key things you should have in any search engine software you buy. You can surf web and research to your heart's content to find one that is best for you. Or if you prefer to buy one I use and recommend, you can get free 30 day trial version of WebPosition Gold here: 30 Day Trial Version Multiple Sites I have more than one domain and many of my sites link to other domains. Part of your search engine ranking has to do with how many sites link to yours. So through multiple sites, my search engine ranking goes up. Every site you have, in fact every PAGE you have on your site, is a chance you'll be found by a search engine. More pages, linking to your home page, also increases your Page Rank with Google, meaning you come up higher in listing. If you REALLY want to be number one, take a look at http://www.lifecoachingstudio.com and see how they have word 'life coaching' everywhere. Sean makes a business out of being ranked highly in engines. Free traffic is great - but it's not only source... Paid Google Traffic I use Google Adwords to gain most of my customers. For Adwords you pay per click for certain keywords. Someone will type in, say "Life Coaching" in Google search bar. When search results come in, ads on right show up in correlation to key words typed in. You only pay if someone clicks on ad. The secret for me is that products customers buy when they come to my sites, pay for web traffic. As a bonus, I get lots of newsletter subscribers. I use Overture.com too - but I don't seem to get very much traffic, and it's quite expensive. Sales Letter When I am writing a sales letter for a product, I use that opportunity to ask for subscriptions. For an example of how I get a subscription without altering flow, let's use www.10supercoaches.com. I mention a few interesting 'hooks', and then I put in this paragraph:
