Literature helps us grasp intricate interactions between narcissist and members of his social circle.

Both Sherlock Holmes and Hercules Poirot, world's most renowned fiction detectives, are quintessential narcissists. Both are also schizoids – they have few friends and are largely confined to their homes, engaged in solitary activities. Both have fatuous, sluggish, and anodyne sidekicks who slavishly cater to their whims and needs and provide them with an adulating gallery – Holmes' Dr. Watson and Poirot's poor Hastings.

Both Holmes and Poirot assiduously avoid "competition" – equally sharp minds who seek their company for a fertilising intellectual exchange among equals. They feel threatened by potential need to admit to ignorance and confess to error. Both gumshoes are self-sufficient and consider themselves peerless.

The Watsons and Hastings of this world provide narcissist with an obsequious, unthreatening, audience and with kind of unconditional and unthinking obedience that confirms to him his omnipotence. They are sufficiently vacuous to make narcissist look sharp and omniscient – but not so asinine as to be instantly discernible as such. They are perfect backdrop, never likely to attain centre stage and overshadow their master.

Moreover, both Holmes and Poirot sadistically – and often publicly – taunt and humiliate their Sancho Panzas, explicitly chastising them for being dim-witted. Narcissism and sadism are psychodynamic cousins and both Watson and Hastings are perfect victims of abuse: docile, understanding, malignantly optimistic, self-deluding, and idolising.

Narcissists can't empathise or love and, therefore, have no friends. The narcissist is one track minded. He is interested in securing Narcissistic Supply from Narcissistic Supply Sources. He is not interested in people as such. He is incapable of empathising, is a solipsist, and recognises only himself as human. To narcissist, all others are three dimensional cartoons, tools and instruments in tedious and Sisyphean task of generating and consuming Narcissistic Supply.

There may have been a time when Romish plotters had a bet with their allies in Britain over who eradicated their assigned enemy first. Most people are aware of 'Flagellants' and Holocaust or Inquisitions against heretical Jews. There are few who know Irish were almost successfully eliminated and had disappeared into bogs so English couldn't find them. The Mayans did same thing with Spanish and no doubt lots of others have sought to blend in with environment in order to avoid such persecution by becoming 'conversos' in public. Bede was probably not first (Eusebius and others were re-writing and plagiarizing) English historian to jump all over Irish. Hume was a great historian in this tradition of debauched prejudice too. Yes, ego of men and their need to flatter their national prejudices are a fact of life, and not just with 'verbal tradition'. In many ways ancient egalitarian peoples had less political and social reasons to lie, and they supported equality between all people. The Englishman who wrote this could be one of those arrogant even shockingly self-centered blankity-blanks who think God is his right hand man. The author of this letter was regarded by Edward Gibbon (who wrote 'Decline and Fall of Roman Empire') as England's greatest historian. He is David Hume and his intellectual progeny and fallout are directly connected to far less but just as influentially prejudicial words of great Encyclopedia. This letter is a masterwork of insipid prejudice and a deceit of monumental proportions.

We know for a fact that Hume is speaking kind of vile invective that allowed Gibbon's friend Lord Sheffield to benefit so much from rape of Ireland. Sheffield was a paid off absentee landowner and key political player in Britain's impoverishment of Ireland. This buying of support by giving lands in other nations claimed by 'Divine' or other debatable 'Right' has a long history in European monarchistic management. These authors of hatred and war, prejudice and ignorance, have unclean hands and obvious conflicts of interest. They were called cause of Rwandan genocide of last decade in lock-step and clear order as Number one and two criminals. Number one was Catholic Church and then Anglican. They are not separate from their government or secular authority as recent Canadian court awards make evident. The Catholic request for government to make payment with them for billions they owe Indians or insurance companies government works with that are paying up are all part of menagerie.

Sein Fein was name of a cultural revival newspaper and society began by Prof. MacManus and others. Now it is a guerilla or terrorist organization. Why do Irish fight amongst themselves and believe in Catholicism (south or Eire) that practices same usages as English Anglican Church? Why is Protestant North that feigns to abhor those usages engaged in fighting for English? The English gave them their land and brought them there from Scotland, while making trade and taxation deals with them to ensure they remained loyal and prospered. Is church promoting hatred and divisiveness? Sure it isn't engaged in secular matters, what with separation of church and state and all that kind of fiction!
