The Message Bill Heard

Written by Abraham Thomas

Voice: Bill!

Bill: I thought I heard a voice.

Voice: Bill! This is a Message from Heaven.

Bill: I don't believe this. Is Heaven on speaking terms withrepparttar world?

Voice: Not often.

Bill: Why me?

Silence

Bill: Speak, Lord. I listen.

Voice: We created all things inrepparttar 149220 universe –repparttar 149221 vast reaches of galaxies andrepparttar 149222 magnificent life on earth. Among all life forms, We endowed man with a superior intelligence, to recognize events around him and to fashion an immense host of feelings. Feelings warn him of danger, drive him to work and make him love and protect his children.

Bill: But, Lord, feelings drive us mad. We cry in sadness and weep in shame. We are burdened by guilt and goaded by ambition. Feelings torture us in our waking hours and chase us in our nightmares. Could you kindly take back this gift of feelings? Not wanting to hurt Your feelings...

Voice: When you were a young civilisation, you needed feelings.

Bill: Nobody could ever need all that pain.

Voice: Aeons ago, feelings guided men. Fear made him run away fromrepparttar 149223 roar ofrepparttar 149224 lion. And love prevented him from eating his young. But, across millenniums, you have grown and accumulated wisdom. Now, you really don't needrepparttar 149225 crutch of painful feelings. You can walk free!

Bill: Save me from jests, Lord. How can mankind ever be rid of pain and fear, anger and jealousy? Those emotions take hold, even before we realise it.

Voice: Yes. That isrepparttar 149226 order of things –repparttar 149227 wayrepparttar 149228 system works. Your purpose in life is to live it fully against its immense odds. Left unsolved, those difficulties caused you pain, anger, or frustration. Emotions wererepparttar 149229 supreme gift, which forced you to solve those problems. But, across centuries, you have accumulated wisdom. That wisdom resides within you.

Bill: But, Lord, where does such wisdom reside within me?

Voice: Within your nerve cells. We gifted you with more than a hundred billion. Each cell perceives, remembers, recalls and recognizes. You see and rememberrepparttar 149230 sunset to recognizerepparttar 149231 approach of night.

Bill: But, Lord, I feel anger and hatred, pain and disgust. Where do these reside?

Voice: Nerve cells fire to stir your emotions. If one fires, you feel dread. If another fires, you feel pleasure. Your own scientists discovered these age old secrets. The nerve cells of your limbic system lie atrepparttar 149232 core of your joy and delight, pain and anger. Their patterns of firing decide your feelings and emotions.

Bill: But, Lord, that limbic system drives us out of our minds.

Voice: The memories of your limbic system carryrepparttar 149233 experiences of all of living history. It recognizesrepparttar 149234 pattern of events in your environment and responds with fitting feelings. Those feelings drive you to action. It is called pattern recognition.

Bill: You mean pattern recognition moves us? One region recognizes events fromrepparttar 149235 patterns inrepparttar 149236 environment. The limbic system recognizes events and triggers feelings. Andrepparttar 149237 motor system recognizesrepparttar 149238 pattern of feelings and triggers actions?

Voice: Exactly. Pattern recognition. Most of your scientists still believe nerve cells compute. Actually, they don't compute. They fire when they recognize patterns. Butrepparttar 149239 views of science will change. Understanding and peace of mind will follow.

Bill: But, Lord, ifrepparttar 149240 nerve cells merely recognize patterns and respond automatically, are we just automatons? Did you not grant us a free will?

Voice: Of course you have a free will, residing in your pre-frontal regions. Those regions recognizerepparttar 149241 whole picture. It is just that you are ruled by your limbic system, rather thanrepparttar 149242 free and measured will expressed by your pre-frontal regions. Raw emotions, rather than dispassionate views ofrepparttar 149243 whole guide you.

The precious coin Rom.1:15(KJV) "For therein isrepparttar righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." Jude 1:3(KJV) "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you ofrepparttar 149155 common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend forrepparttar 149156 faith which was once delivered untorepparttar 149157 saints." 2 Peter 1:1(KJV) "Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us throughrepparttar 149158 righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:"

Inrepparttar 149159 kingdom of God on earth, the common unit of currency that is spent to fulfill God's purposes in and through mankind is 'the precious coin'. 'The precious coin' is faith in God and his word. 'The precious coin' is available to every member of God's kingdom fromrepparttar 149160 least torepparttar 149161 greatest: Rom.12:5(KJV) "For I say, throughrepparttar 149162 grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every manrepparttar 149163 measure of faith." The importance of real faith andrepparttar 149164 prominence ofrepparttar 149165 heroes of faith have been discussed in 'Rhema Island'. Real faith is 'the precious coin' which has two sides. The side known as 'the head' is 'the sunny side' of real Christianity described below:- Heb.11:33-35a(KJV) "Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stoppedrepparttar 149166 mouths of lions. Quenchedrepparttar 149167 violence of fire, escapedrepparttar 149168 edge ofrepparttar 149169 sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flightrepparttar 149170 armies ofrepparttar 149171 aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again:..." The side known as 'the tail' is 'the cloudy side' of real Christianity described below:- Heb.11:35b-38(KJV) "...and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain withrepparttar 149172 sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whomrepparttar 149173 world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves ofrepparttar 149174 earth." This second side of 'the precious coin' certainly excludes any wrong kind of suffering for Christians as clearly commanded below:- 1 Peter 4:15(KJV) "But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters."

Whilerepparttar 149175 first side appears to be attractive, the second seems to be repulsive! Inrepparttar 149176 history ofrepparttar 149177 church, many saints have camped on 'the sunny side';while others have lodged on 'the cloudy side'. Each 'camp' has despisedrepparttar 149178 other due to one or more theological reasons. Yet inrepparttar 149179 sacred records ofrepparttar 149180 bible, one will clearly see that both Jesus Christ, andrepparttar 149181 early church embraced both sides of true Christianity! The Lord Jesus Christ both hadrepparttar 149182 company of great multitudes(Matt.4:25),and suffered desertion of his closest associates(Matt.26:56b). All believers in Christ are called 'to walk in his steps' on both sides of 'the precious coin'(1 Peter 2:21). The early church experienced both 'gathering'(Acts 2:41) and 'scattering'(Acts 8:1) in fulfilling God's purposes for her(Acts 1:8).
