The Instant Success MythWritten by Rudolph Strachan
The Instant Success MythBefore you quit your day job get plain straightforward facts on home business hype. The Internet has certainly opened a plethora of opportunities for YOU. The question is: Are you prepared to chart labyrinth that lies ahead? Statistics prove that a vast of majority of all new businesses fail. The primary causes of this failure are undercapitalization and poor planning. The truth of matter is average potential entrepreneur becomes an impulse buyer. Similar to buying popcorn and hot dogs in movies simply because it is flashed across screen, tantalizes senses and induces purchase. Starting a home-based business must be more organized and well planned than that. Certainly you may happen upon a great idea. But, do you have what it takes (financially, emotionally and professionally) to see it through. Just because idea may be a terrific one, it doesn’t mean that you can make it succeed simply by buying into it. All ideas take HARD WORK and CAPITAL. The less capital you have more hard work you will have to contribute. Some of the, so called, advertising and marketing gurus will try to mislead you unsuspecting entrepreneur into believing that if you just buy product ‘A’ and set up a website tomorrow you will be rich. Nothing can be further from truth. In most cases I personally try to find out what website owner’s primary job is. If they are still working for ‘J Steam Cleaners’, then that great idea may just be that a great IDEA. Not that idea can’t take off. But, do you have what it takes to make it take off. How do you know if you have what it takes for this? I will outline a few things you can look at. Remember, to be successful you do not have to reinvent wheel just find more uses for it. Or, perfect uses we now have. Like they say at a well know company we do not make ‘the product’ we just perfect it. The Wrights may have invented airplane but look where Boeing and McDonald Douglas, etc. have taken it. How do you know what business is business for you. Many marketing experts suggest finding an area you truly ENJOY. Well this can be a realistic guide because most businesses do not make money within first few months. In essence however, what they are saying is: make sure you have patience to stick out rough times. As a businessman I have done many things I DID NOT LIKE and made lots of money. So this is not necessarily true. The key to success is to find a demand and fill that niche (unique need). The purpose of this newsletter is to approach idea of home business instant success hype realistically and honestly. Many have tried and failed at different businesses, even Internet marketing experts among us. Many people would not admit to that, but it is true. In fact I have found out that NO ONE tells you whole truth. Hypes like for $100 dollars you can set up a website and start making money in 24hrs proliferate Internet. It may possibly happen. But, yet no one answers these questions: How do surfers find your site in 24 hrs? How can anyone actually get a top ranking on search engines in 24 hours? Who do you sell to in 24 hours? Most of these questions remain unanswered. My guess is more like $1,500 -$2,000 over time you can really get ball rolling. For $100 you can set up a site but it would take a lot of HARD work from that point to sell something. I would not even consider a venture under $1,000 unless you really have time to put into promoting and marketing your website. [At least 2 hours a day]. If you are already at home and do not have anything or much else to do, this would be way to go. I honestly believe that you can turn that $100 into something great.

One Point Two Billion - Or MoreIn this surreal world of internet, anyone, even you, can put your point across to a staggering number of people in every country on planet. From political activists to artists and writers, can now find an audience to take notice of them where they could not get much attention in their local community. Their horizons have been dramatically extended, so their work will travel on indefinately with no end in sight as in entering a collosal black hole. Where does their online work go? Where does it come to a stop? The answer is, it will go on as long as internet is there. Even after they have no longer maintained a web site, their work can be handed on to other sites, to add content. There are too, website archive sites who keep copies of websites for people to look at now and in future. Twenty years from now people will be able to look through archived websites to see what was new then, what were prices, what stock market was doing, what writers and artists were putting out, and list goes on and on. Ideal for a writer in future. Not only will people be able to see what was going on, but in some cases will be able to hear what people had to say, for websites now are using music, video, and sound. For those aspiring authors, and everyone it has often been said, has a book within them, can write their great work of literature, compile it to an e-book, and pass it around internet, where it could go rounds for ever more, long after author has died. Conventional authors could hardly say that about their hardback or paperback books. At this moment in time, maybe only 40% to 60% of people in any country log on to internet every day, but numbers keep growing every year, and for those wanting to make a living out of internet, future potential is enormous. Consider Asian market where internet is fairly new, with China as next real big explosive market with unlimited potential. Credit cards in China are unheard of, except for an elite minority. To receive payment for anything over internet you would either, have to wait another 50 years if you want to be paid by credit card, or persuade your Chinese clients to open an internet payment account online with likes of Stormpay, which is an innovative new company, who will take any form of payment to credit your new account, even cash, or bank check. Stormpay even have 'WalkUp' offices around world in major cities and more are being established where a client can deposit cash to credit their account for use on internet. Then client can pay for anything on your site, e-books, software, music etc., if you also open a Stormpay account for receipt of credits, all you need to open an account initially, is an email address. Could not be simpler. Credit cards over internet could be a thing of past, many people still will not use credit cards over internet because of hackers, so what better way of secure transactions do you need than a Stormpay account? It gives confidence to your clients who need not hesitate to make a payment, there and then, for whatever type of goods and services you provide.
