The Essential Conflict in Humans

Written by Clive Taylor

The two parts of our beings:

One part of our beings is our DNA-based species’ nature, which includesrepparttar elements of our brain activity and awareness that evolved to contribute to our survival inrepparttar 126226 world and especially, repparttar 126227 survival of our unique individual DNA, generation to generation.

The other part is an “accidental” outcome of DNA’s survival activities inrepparttar 126228 world – Consciousness.

The nature of consciousness:

Consciousness came about as an “emergent” property fromrepparttar 126229 individual organism’s need to be able to make survival “decisions” moment-to-moment, rather than generation-to-generation as it was in simpler times, biologically speaking.

Asrepparttar 126230 complexity ofrepparttar 126231 organ that evolved to make those decisions, increased, a threshold was reached whererepparttar 126232 new property of consciousness appeared.

There are many dynamics in nature that show this “accidental” new emergent property appearing out of simpler activities. The universe itself is probably such an emergent property.

The essential conflict:

The conflict comes fromrepparttar 126233 fact thatrepparttar 126234 needs of DNA are different torepparttar 126235 needs of self-aware consciousness.

DNA has no regard forrepparttar 126236 feelings or survival ofrepparttar 126237 organism other than those that furtherrepparttar 126238 DNA’s propagation, whereas our conscious selves want freedom from pain and suffering and want choice overrepparttar 126239 experience of our lives.

At times, this choice goes directly againstrepparttar 126240 needs of DNA – such as when we choose not to have children (the vehicles of DNA propagation).

A lot ofrepparttar 126241 strange behaviour of individuals (of any species) can be shown to be an outcome ofrepparttar 126242 in-built, long-term survival need ofrepparttar 126243 relevant DNA. (There is a micro-organism - Toxoplasma - that has a DNA-propagation cycle that needs cats and mice: The organism can only breed in cats, so it has evolved a situation where it gets into cat faeces and then infectsrepparttar 126244 mice when they come in contact with it. The micro-organism then gets intorepparttar 126245 mouse brain and causesrepparttar 126246 mouse to seek out cats and lose coordination. This allows a cat to catch and eatrepparttar 126247 mouse, furtheringrepparttar 126248 breeding cycle.)

Dolphins and Whales: Gateways to Healing

Written by Keith Varnum

On a cold, dark, overcast day thirty years ago, a ray of warmth and light shown into my world from a most unexpected source-the eye of a giant Humpback whale. In my young twenties and already old with disillusionment atrepparttar state ofrepparttar 126225 world, I was trying to escape my despair by spending an afternoon at sea on a small boat. Without much hope of success, I had been asking whoever might be listening for a sign of something worth living for, some indication that there was light atrepparttar 126226 end ofrepparttar 126227 tunnel of this struggle of a life I had been enduring. That afternoon, my prayers were answered by none less thanrepparttar 126228 largest living creature onrepparttar 126229 face ofrepparttar 126230 earth.

Eye to Eye with a Whale

Lying despondent onrepparttar 126231 deck ofrepparttar 126232 boat, disappearing into my mental malaise, I suddenly found myself staring intorepparttar 126233 eye of a beingrepparttar 126234 size of a large office building. My gaze was locked intorepparttar 126235 penetrating gaze of this mammoth animal who had surfaced fromrepparttar 126236 depths just enough to peer overrepparttar 126237 bow of my boat right into my face. Our eyes were only three feet apart. There was no distance between our hearts. Our souls were already one. I immediately dissolved intorepparttar 126238 depths of this being's essence… a vast inner sea of spacious emptiness, allowing anything and everything, embracing all that I was and so much more than I was even aware of then. My mind went silent. My inner turmoil disappeared. I entered into a sanctuary of profound, gentle union with my own self inrepparttar 126239 form of a huge ocean creature.

Heart to Heart

In a very real sense, I have never left that sanctuary. I have carried with me to this day that feeling of deep, complete acceptance that I received fromrepparttar 126240 whale. That taste of my true natural state has inspired me ever since to search for ways to incorporate that knowing into every aspect of my life and being.

Our Kindred Spirits ofrepparttar 126241 Sea

The welcoming embrace ofrepparttar 126242 whale for me that afternoon was not an isolated incident. More and more often inrepparttar 126243 last twenty years aroundrepparttar 126244 world, whales and dolphins have been initiating contact with humans. As dolphin research expert, Timothy Wyllie, points out, "There's an awful lot of water out there…repparttar 126245 dolphins and whales don't have to interact with us if they don't want to."

My dramatic experience of wholeness and expanded awareness being withrepparttar 126246 whale was also not uncommon. Most people report regaining a natural, healthy state by being inrepparttar 126247 presence of dolphins and whales and being enveloped byrepparttar 126248 transformative emanations from these benevolent creatures. Cetaceans, dolphins and whales, are constantly connected withrepparttar 126249 universal vibrations coming from Source. Because they emit these vibrations abundantly and freely, dolphins and whales have a profound impact on humans in their vicinity. In their presence, people experience vast increases in energy, vitality and awareness on all levels, physical, emotional and spiritual.

Awake and Aware

Dolphins and whales are intelligent friends who live by expressingrepparttar 126250 qualities we value--harmony, joyfulness, good health, beauty, wisdom, supple movement, grace and respect for mutuality and freedom. Dolphins and whales are at One with nature andrepparttar 126251 universe. They live in a state of love that suspends judgment, anger and retaliation. Their exuberant celebration of life is a call to humanity to explore its collective potential and individual capacity for deeper compassion, more authentic self-expression and more profound spiritual unfoldment.

Expanding Our World

In addition torepparttar 126252 spirit of cooperation, peace, simplicity and love that they demonstrate, dolphins and whales teach their human friends to expand their mind, release limiting thoughts and feelings, and open torepparttar 126253 wondrous world ofrepparttar 126254 unknown that they are gladly revealing. Timothy Wyllie shares that "I love being withrepparttar 126255 dolphins, but they are challenging companions. They teach me how to let go… how to surrender to my own fear… how to reachrepparttar 126256 light by going through torepparttar 126257 other side."

Dolphin and whale interaction helps people go beyond our old limiting social and cultural beliefs and assists us to realize that we're capable of a lot more than we think we are. Their ability to use more of their physical, sensory and intelligence potentials reminds us that we can do use more of ours. For instance, humans use only a very small portion of their brain capacity. Dolphins and whales encourage people to use more of their brain by using tonal language to stimulate their brain cells, as well asrepparttar 126258 cells ofrepparttar 126259 rest of their body.

Multi-dimensional Playmates

Playing with these wondrous creatures, people find they leave behindrepparttar 126260 linear belief system of three dimensional time and space, entering an altered state in which there are no time constraints and everything occurs simultaneously. Cetaceans naturally play in multiple dimensions. They are simultaneously experiencing life inrepparttar 126261 ocean and life in a holographic, vibrational world of multi-level subtle realities inrepparttar 126262 fourth and fifth dimensions. Swimming with dolphins and whales in their multi-dimensional universe, people easily access empowering childhood memories, enlightening past lives and exciting visions of their future.
