The Emmaus Journal - "The Little Things In Life"

Even as 'Believers' we tend to focus our attention onrepparttar 122922 big grandiose super events, repparttar 122923 larger than life images that surround our everyday lives...but there is always more to life than meetsrepparttar 122924 eye. The indirect challenge is to findrepparttar 122925 more than meetsrepparttar 122926 eye moments and it is usually found inrepparttar 122927 little things of life. These so called little things of life that would normally be over looked much too quickly; and unfortunately in so doing, miss them altogether. Missing these little things of life torepparttar 122928 point of also missingrepparttar 122929 blessing en-captured therewith.

I had recently witnessed an unassuming gesture of a young man removing an insignificant spider with a cup and paper towel to convey its release outsiderepparttar 122930 living quarters it had invaded. Seeing this small act of thoughtful kindness toward another living creature even as small as a spider; provoked my spirit in response. Ifrepparttar 122931 choice had been left to me inrepparttar 122932 same situation, I know my first natural instinct to squash would have compelled me to immediately eliminate such an ugly creepy thing and mindlessly so without a second thought. But that little act of preservation instead of elimination, toward such a small insignificant creature, performed by a young man at least ten times my own strength and how much more so than that ofrepparttar 122933 spiders; humbled me. To witness his regard of life, even toward one of life's smallest forms, moved upon my spirit in a large way.

Why should I marvel at such a little thing in life? Because I sawrepparttar 122934 hand of YaHWeH (God) extended beyondrepparttar 122935 hand of man. A small moment with a small wonder to behold, but a life changing force to partake of. There was no exchange of words, no lectures, or even mental judgments. Absolutely nothing unusual inrepparttar 122936 reality of that particular moment in life, except I saw it! It then touched my spirit and impacted my life with each passing day with a renewed sense of holy value for life. Thus connecting a greater value ofrepparttar 122937 life force in allrepparttar 122938 little things of life.

Can it be that we have slowly become desensitized toward regardingrepparttar 122939 small insignificant, seemingly unprecedented events that life can offer, as meaningless in value? Have we subconsciously deferred to being blindly motivated and stimulated byrepparttar 122940 dull obtuse, yet, in your face, sequences that life can force upon our natural senses? Perhaps we have become so rigidly scheduled in our personal timetables that we can no longer afford to take that extra moment to see pastrepparttar 122941 glare of our own selves. Which leaves me to believe that much has passed us by, and many divine blessings alongrepparttar 122942 way.

The Answer is the Question ... Asking the right questions!

Written by Dr. Edward B. Toupin

We all have questions about our lives, directions, and destinies. It isrepparttar curiosity ofrepparttar 122919 unknown that intrigues us to "ask" ofrepparttar 122920 future. It isrepparttar 122921 stress ofrepparttar 122922 present and events ofrepparttar 122923 past that cause us to "wish" for a future. But, under circumstances and with events that create stresses and distortions, our questions, demands, and wishes can create a future that is specifically implemented to answer our questions.

The future is not "written in stone", but is instead "etched on a napkin" based onrepparttar 122924 events ofrepparttar 122925 present. When we ask a question, issue a wish, or make a demand ofrepparttar 122926 Universe, it listens closely. It then establishesrepparttar 122927 path and creates a future for us to receiverepparttar 122928 necessary answer.

Of course, we only ask questions based on our past experiences. In many cases we ask general, non-specific questions, while in others we are specific of objectives not in line with our desires and vision. We tend to focus onrepparttar 122929 past to query for a future, which produces yet another path to answer questions for long past events. As we ask, we experience, and we learn. If we don't learn, then we askrepparttar 122930 same questions and liverepparttar 122931 same experiences.

One ofrepparttar 122932 common questions I hear is, "Why is life so hard?" That question, along withrepparttar 122933 accompanying thoughts and energies, creates a future to showrepparttar 122934 hard life, and its reasons, to providerepparttar 122935 answer. We experience what we ask and demand. A better question would be, "How do I create a successful life?" This question, with its energies and thoughts, will create a future to showrepparttar 122936 path to success.

It is not so much thatrepparttar 122937 Universe takesrepparttar 122938 time to tend to our questions, demands, and wishes. It isrepparttar 122939 energies that we produce as we think and query that createsrepparttar 122940 circumstances in our future. To poserepparttar 122941 right queries and demands, think ofrepparttar 122942 future and how to get there inrepparttar 122943 manner you desire --- as opposed to consideringrepparttar 122944 past and how to avoid certain events and circumstances.
