The Emmaus Journal - "Somebody Please Stop The Merry Go Round - I Have To Get Off!"

'Stop, somebody please stoprepparttar 126694 merry-go-round, I have to get off.'

Do those words bring back any childhood memories? I can remember that exact phrase coming out of my mouth as a child! I had no sooner jumped up onrepparttar 126695 playgrounds' intoxicating and well used merry-go-round, then within a few turns of it's rotation, desperately wanting off. I was afraid to jump, and dragging my feet inrepparttar 126696 worn circular trench underfoot wasrepparttar 126697 next best alternative; unless a kind hearted playmate daringly grabbed an outside rail and forcedrepparttar 126698 merry-go-round to a halt. Not only did I experiencerepparttar 126699 dizzying effects ofrepparttar 126700 merry-go-round's centrifugal force, my equilibrium suffered greatly even well afterrepparttar 126701 ride. But, for some childish reason, this did not stop me, from jumping up onrepparttar 126702 merry-go-roundrepparttar 126703 next time I went torepparttar 126704 playground.

Thankfully, we all grow-up and learn as we go. I personally had to avoidrepparttar 126705 merry-go-round, even atrepparttar 126706 gleeful beckonings of my playground friends. Yes,repparttar 126707 playground is full of wonderful childhood memories. Many of life's lessons are learned within those memorable childhood years, and thankfully withoutrepparttar 126708 matured mental capacity to fully evaluate them till later on in life.

Our Americanized lifestyle presents it's own array of merry-go-rounds. Even, we as Believers have unabashingly jumped aboard some ofrepparttar 126709 seemingly innocent and gone along forrepparttar 126710 dizzying ride. One ofrepparttar 126711 greatest rides is withinrepparttar 126712 well marketed advent of our Holiday Season. From Thanksgiving Day, thru Christmas Day, on to New Year's Day, there seems to berepparttar 126713 same dizzying effect perpetrating our social playgrounds. The Holiday Merry-Go-Round frenzy of preparing for these strategic events surreptitiously invades our homes, schools, churches, business's, and last but not least, our very souls. As Christian Believers we need to recognizerepparttar 126714 consequences of jumping on this Holiday Merry-Go-Round, each in our own way.

Fromrepparttar 126715 red and green holiday color-wheel torepparttar 126716 plethoric glitz of holiday decorations, we are bombarded at every turn withrepparttar 126717 zeal of our local retailers. Advertisements abound to catch our eye. Credit cards are blithely scanned, with nary a conscious consideration ofrepparttar 126718 so un-holiday red line of over extensions. Check books flash, and pockets empty out their paper bills and jiggling change, all forrepparttar 126719 perfect gift that must be perfectly presented in cheerful ribbons and jolly designer paper. Holiday tunes subliminally turn our fancy to seek out Santa Claus atrepparttar 126720 Mall. The sweet tooth fairy sprinkles her holiday fairy dust upon our taste-buds. Such a rush of plans and festivities, fromrepparttar 126721 holiday greeting cards, torepparttar 126722 holiday menu's, torepparttar 126723 shopping excursions, torepparttar 126724 gift wrapping, torepparttar 126725 tree and home decorating, torepparttar 126726 parties that run day and night. A crescendo of Holiday anticipations arise asrepparttar 126727 eventful pressures prevail. A countdown torepparttar 126728 25th ticks away as all eyes turn torepparttar 126729 upcoming New Year...

"And there were inrepparttar 126730 same country shepherds abiding inrepparttar 126731 field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo,repparttar 126732 Angel of Elohim came upon them, andrepparttar 126733 Glory of Elohim shone round about them and they were sore afraid. And,repparttar 126734 Angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you Good Tidings of Great Joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day inrepparttar 126735 City of David, a Savior, who is Yahshua, repparttar 126736 Christ. And this shall be a sign unto you; You shall findrepparttar 126737 babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was withrepparttar 126738 Angel a multitude ofrepparttar 126739 Heavenly Host praising YaHWeH (God) and saying, Glory to YaHWeH (God) inrepparttar 126740 Highest, and on earth Peace, Good Will toward men." St. Luke 2:8-14

... The proverbial gifts opening andrepparttar 126741 big eyed children andrepparttar 126742 fabulous eats abound in displays of holiday cheer. Usually in such merry making with allrepparttar 126743 holiday hugs, smiles and kisses exchanged right up intorepparttar 126744 climatic New Year. And, before we can hardly catch our breath again, it is over! The ride has ended, repparttar 126745 merry-go-round grinds to a halt. Our dizzy little heads need to rest. Our equilibrium staggers as we try to stumble back into our everyday routines. But, thenrepparttar 126746 holiday decorations have to be packed away, repparttar 126747 holiday bills have to be paid, repparttar 126748 holiday extra weight has to come off, etc, etc.

But, I thoughtrepparttar 126749 Holiday Merry-Go-Round had stopped! Yes, it did, but now comesrepparttar 126750 cold reality ofrepparttar 126751 Americanized Holiday Merry-Go-Round's after effects. Where once as a childrepparttar 126752 merry-go-round only left you with a dizzy head, and a funny walk; this kind of merry-go-round leaves you with more to deal with afterwards. We ceremonially rationalize our Holiday Merry-Go-Round, as part of our Christian culture. After all, it is all about Christ anyway, andrepparttar 126753 extra holiday spirit doesn't harm anyone. What wouldrepparttar 126754 children do if we did not celebraterepparttar 126755 holiday's like everyone else? We all need this time to be special. After all, it is all biblically based and there's no real harm in it anyway...

"Now when Yahshua (Jesus) was born in Bethlehem of Judea inrepparttar 126756 days of Herodrepparttar 126757 king, behold, there came wise men fromrepparttar 126758 East to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King ofrepparttar 126759 Jews? for we have seen His Star inrepparttar 126760 East, and are come to worship Him." St. Matthew 2:1-2

The Use of Mysticism in The Song of Songs

Written by Robert Bruce Baird

The Use and Abuse of Mysticism inrepparttar Song of Songs:

The incorporation of Aristotelian thought intorepparttar 126690 dogma of Catholicism was notrepparttar 126691 first attempt to have alchemy co-opted or hermeneutically imbued intorepparttar 126692 whole system of thought. The fact that Aquinas did this underrepparttar 126693 tutelage of a Dominican Bishop who is regarded asrepparttar 126694 forbear of Goethe and Illuminized thought has not escaped me. Frater Albertus Magnus is a name still to be reckoned with inrepparttar 126695 present day as a person by that name headsrepparttar 126696 International Alchemical group in Salt Lake City. The fact that Melchizedek and Solomon or others inrepparttar 126697 family of Jesus are adept esotericists and alchemists should not surprise any real scholar. But let us assume Jesus had good intentions and later scriptural or priestly manipulators sought to bring his real and deep understanding more completely intorepparttar 126698 Christian model of spiritual growth. Here is a report from Pelikan about a fraud or attempt to do this which was accepted as church dogma for a millennium untilrepparttar 126699 Thomist ideologues maderepparttar 126700 great furtherance of this underrepparttar 126701 Jesuit teaching system.

“… can all be traced to Proclus, repparttar 126702 great systematizer of Neoplatonism inrepparttar 126703 fifth century C.E.; and through him much of it goes back to Plotinus, and ultimately even to Plato himself. Although both Plotinus and Proclus were critics of Christianity, they also owed much to it; {Which might have to do with Christianity having borrowed much fromrepparttar 126704 school of thought they were part of.} and, in turn, their Christian opponents shared much of their Neoplatonism with them, especially these very elements ofrepparttar 126705 mystical vision.

Therefore it did not come as a shock when, inrepparttar 126706 sixth century, there appeared a corpus of Greek writings that seemed to have blended Christian and Neoplatonic elements almost indiscriminately and that borerepparttar 126707 name of Dionysiusrepparttar 126708 Areopagite. This Dionysius was, inrepparttar 126709 report ofrepparttar 126710 Acts ofrepparttar 126711 Apostles, repparttar 126712 only man named together withrepparttar 126713 women who ‘joined and believed’ {Thus it is likely thatrepparttar 126714 Dianistic or people who saw what was happening to women inrepparttar 126715 behemoth of Constantinism were motivated to try to correct things a little.} at Athens in response torepparttar 126716 preaching ofrepparttar 126717 apostle Paul; {Today there are many scholars who sayrepparttar 126718 Epistles to Timothy once thought to berepparttar 126719 work of Paul are notrepparttar 126720 work of Paul.} byrepparttar 126721 second century he seems to have been known asrepparttar 126722 first bishop ofrepparttar 126723 Christian church at Athens; inrepparttar 126724 sixth century he suddenly produced this massive collection of Christian Neoplatonic speculations; and inrepparttar 126725 ninth century he came to be identified with Saint Denis, patron saint of France and third-century bishop of Paris.(5) {Eusebius is mentioned in his Biblio. Eusebius is a merchant and purchaser ofrepparttar 126726 bishopric of Paris, I believe. The matter of intrigue from far away Turkey andrepparttar 126727 Basilidae there who are part ofrepparttar 126728 Semites like Sargon requires more research on my part but I suspect this is another example ofrepparttar 126729 Benjaminite/Maccobean/Elephantine/Rothschild/De Medicis continuum and their desires at work.} Certified as it was with such impressive and all-but-apostolic credentials, repparttar 126730 thought of Pseudo-Dionysius was accepted as authentic almost without dissent inrepparttar 126731 sixth century, and it retained its authoritative position, again almost without dissent, for an entire millennium, not being seriously challenged untilrepparttar 126732 fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.” (6)

There is no question as to Plato being a noble and an alchemist. The matter of his connection torepparttar 126733 Sargon lineage and Hyksos in Egypt where his relative Critias was a priest is a matter of suspicion I continue to track and wonder about. For a certainty I do findrepparttar 126734 esoteric precursor to Hegelian dialectic by these alchemists does exist. I would refer a serious researcher torepparttar 126735 chortling done by Fulcanelli aboutrepparttar 126736 inculcation of alchemic rituals and symbols into Christendom that can be found in his book onrepparttar 126737 Cathedrals whichrepparttar 126738 Templars did build atop Druidic or pagan sites.

“Although Pseudo-Dionysius was undoubtedlyrepparttar 126739 source for much of it, a major inspiration of Christ-mysticism wasrepparttar 126740 interpretation ofrepparttar 126741 Song of Songs (or Song of Solomon{Key to study by Masons today}) as a Christian allegory. As most scholars would agree today, be they Jewish or Roman Catholic or Protestant, repparttar 126742 Song was originally a poem celebratingrepparttar 126743 love between man and woman. But throughout its history it has in fact been read allegorically, and it may even be that it came intorepparttar 126744 Jewish canon that way. Defending its canonicity atrepparttar 126745 council of Jamnia in 90 C.E., which stabilizedrepparttar 126746 canon ofrepparttar 126747 Hebrew Bible, repparttar 126748 celebrated Rabbi Aqiba declared: ‘The whole world is not worthrepparttar 126749 day on whichrepparttar 126750 Song of Songs was given to Israel, for allrepparttar 126751 Scriptures are holy, butrepparttar 126752 Song of Songs isrepparttar 126753 Holy of Holies.’ From this interpretation comesrepparttar 126754 rule promulgated byrepparttar 126755 rabbis: ‘He who trills his voice in chantingrepparttar 126756 Song of Songs inrepparttar 126757 banquet house and treats it as a sort of song has no part inrepparttar 126758 world to come.” (7)

Such isrepparttar 126759 nature of exclusionary elitism so prevalent in this foul cultus along with its fellow Judaeo/Christian/Islamic kin that continue to breed Armageddon and Rapture end games and wars, as if that is somehow what G-d might want.
