'Stop, somebody please stop merry-go-round, I have to get off.' Do those words bring back any childhood memories? I can remember that exact phrase coming out of my mouth as a child! I had no sooner jumped up on playgrounds' intoxicating and well used merry-go-round, then within a few turns of it's rotation, desperately wanting off. I was afraid to jump, and dragging my feet in worn circular trench underfoot was next best alternative; unless a kind hearted playmate daringly grabbed an outside rail and forced merry-go-round to a halt. Not only did I experience dizzying effects of merry-go-round's centrifugal force, my equilibrium suffered greatly even well after ride. But, for some childish reason, this did not stop me, from jumping up on merry-go-round next time I went to playground. Thankfully, we all grow-up and learn as we go. I personally had to avoid merry-go-round, even at gleeful beckonings of my playground friends. Yes, playground is full of wonderful childhood memories. Many of life's lessons are learned within those memorable childhood years, and thankfully without matured mental capacity to fully evaluate them till later on in life. Our Americanized lifestyle presents it's own array of merry-go-rounds. Even, we as Believers have unabashingly jumped aboard some of seemingly innocent and gone along for dizzying ride. One of greatest rides is within well marketed advent of our Holiday Season. From Thanksgiving Day, thru Christmas Day, on to New Year's Day, there seems to be same dizzying effect perpetrating our social playgrounds. The Holiday Merry-Go-Round frenzy of preparing for these strategic events surreptitiously invades our homes, schools, churches, business's, and last but not least, our very souls. As Christian Believers we need to recognize consequences of jumping on this Holiday Merry-Go-Round, each in our own way. From red and green holiday color-wheel to plethoric glitz of holiday decorations, we are bombarded at every turn with zeal of our local retailers. Advertisements abound to catch our eye. Credit cards are blithely scanned, with nary a conscious consideration of so un-holiday red line of over extensions. Check books flash, and pockets empty out their paper bills and jiggling change, all for perfect gift that must be perfectly presented in cheerful ribbons and jolly designer paper. Holiday tunes subliminally turn our fancy to seek out Santa Claus at Mall. The sweet tooth fairy sprinkles her holiday fairy dust upon our taste-buds. Such a rush of plans and festivities, from holiday greeting cards, to holiday menu's, to shopping excursions, to gift wrapping, to tree and home decorating, to parties that run day and night. A crescendo of Holiday anticipations arise as eventful pressures prevail. A countdown to 25th ticks away as all eyes turn to upcoming New Year... "And there were in same country shepherds abiding in field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, Angel of Elohim came upon them, and Glory of Elohim shone round about them and they were sore afraid. And, Angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you Good Tidings of Great Joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in City of David, a Savior, who is Yahshua, Christ. And this shall be a sign unto you; You shall find babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with Angel a multitude of Heavenly Host praising YaHWeH (God) and saying, Glory to YaHWeH (God) in Highest, and on earth Peace, Good Will toward men." St. Luke 2:8-14 ... The proverbial gifts opening and big eyed children and fabulous eats abound in displays of holiday cheer. Usually in such merry making with all holiday hugs, smiles and kisses exchanged right up into climatic New Year. And, before we can hardly catch our breath again, it is over! The ride has ended, merry-go-round grinds to a halt. Our dizzy little heads need to rest. Our equilibrium staggers as we try to stumble back into our everyday routines. But, then holiday decorations have to be packed away, holiday bills have to be paid, holiday extra weight has to come off, etc, etc. But, I thought Holiday Merry-Go-Round had stopped! Yes, it did, but now comes cold reality of Americanized Holiday Merry-Go-Round's after effects. Where once as a child merry-go-round only left you with a dizzy head, and a funny walk; this kind of merry-go-round leaves you with more to deal with afterwards. We ceremonially rationalize our Holiday Merry-Go-Round, as part of our Christian culture. After all, it is all about Christ anyway, and extra holiday spirit doesn't harm anyone. What would children do if we did not celebrate holiday's like everyone else? We all need this time to be special. After all, it is all biblically based and there's no real harm in it anyway... "Now when Yahshua (Jesus) was born in Bethlehem of Judea in days of Herod king, behold, there came wise men from East to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he that is born King of Jews? for we have seen His Star in East, and are come to worship Him." St. Matthew 2:1-2
| | The Use of Mysticism in The Song of SongsWritten by Robert Bruce Baird
The Use and Abuse of Mysticism in Song of Songs:The incorporation of Aristotelian thought into dogma of Catholicism was not first attempt to have alchemy co-opted or hermeneutically imbued into whole system of thought. The fact that Aquinas did this under tutelage of a Dominican Bishop who is regarded as forbear of Goethe and Illuminized thought has not escaped me. Frater Albertus Magnus is a name still to be reckoned with in present day as a person by that name heads International Alchemical group in Salt Lake City. The fact that Melchizedek and Solomon or others in family of Jesus are adept esotericists and alchemists should not surprise any real scholar. But let us assume Jesus had good intentions and later scriptural or priestly manipulators sought to bring his real and deep understanding more completely into Christian model of spiritual growth. Here is a report from Pelikan about a fraud or attempt to do this which was accepted as church dogma for a millennium until Thomist ideologues made great furtherance of this under Jesuit teaching system. “… can all be traced to Proclus, great systematizer of Neoplatonism in fifth century C.E.; and through him much of it goes back to Plotinus, and ultimately even to Plato himself. Although both Plotinus and Proclus were critics of Christianity, they also owed much to it; {Which might have to do with Christianity having borrowed much from school of thought they were part of.} and, in turn, their Christian opponents shared much of their Neoplatonism with them, especially these very elements of mystical vision. Therefore it did not come as a shock when, in sixth century, there appeared a corpus of Greek writings that seemed to have blended Christian and Neoplatonic elements almost indiscriminately and that bore name of Dionysius Areopagite. This Dionysius was, in report of Acts of Apostles, only man named together with women who ‘joined and believed’ {Thus it is likely that Dianistic or people who saw what was happening to women in behemoth of Constantinism were motivated to try to correct things a little.} at Athens in response to preaching of apostle Paul; {Today there are many scholars who say Epistles to Timothy once thought to be work of Paul are not work of Paul.} by second century he seems to have been known as first bishop of Christian church at Athens; in sixth century he suddenly produced this massive collection of Christian Neoplatonic speculations; and in ninth century he came to be identified with Saint Denis, patron saint of France and third-century bishop of Paris.(5) {Eusebius is mentioned in his Biblio. Eusebius is a merchant and purchaser of bishopric of Paris, I believe. The matter of intrigue from far away Turkey and Basilidae there who are part of Semites like Sargon requires more research on my part but I suspect this is another example of Benjaminite/Maccobean/Elephantine/Rothschild/De Medicis continuum and their desires at work.} Certified as it was with such impressive and all-but-apostolic credentials, thought of Pseudo-Dionysius was accepted as authentic almost without dissent in sixth century, and it retained its authoritative position, again almost without dissent, for an entire millennium, not being seriously challenged until fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.” (6) There is no question as to Plato being a noble and an alchemist. The matter of his connection to Sargon lineage and Hyksos in Egypt where his relative Critias was a priest is a matter of suspicion I continue to track and wonder about. For a certainty I do find esoteric precursor to Hegelian dialectic by these alchemists does exist. I would refer a serious researcher to chortling done by Fulcanelli about inculcation of alchemic rituals and symbols into Christendom that can be found in his book on Cathedrals which Templars did build atop Druidic or pagan sites. “Although Pseudo-Dionysius was undoubtedly source for much of it, a major inspiration of Christ-mysticism was interpretation of Song of Songs (or Song of Solomon{Key to study by Masons today}) as a Christian allegory. As most scholars would agree today, be they Jewish or Roman Catholic or Protestant, Song was originally a poem celebrating love between man and woman. But throughout its history it has in fact been read allegorically, and it may even be that it came into Jewish canon that way. Defending its canonicity at council of Jamnia in 90 C.E., which stabilized canon of Hebrew Bible, celebrated Rabbi Aqiba declared: ‘The whole world is not worth day on which Song of Songs was given to Israel, for all Scriptures are holy, but Song of Songs is Holy of Holies.’ From this interpretation comes rule promulgated by rabbis: ‘He who trills his voice in chanting Song of Songs in banquet house and treats it as a sort of song has no part in world to come.” (7) Such is nature of exclusionary elitism so prevalent in this foul cultus along with its fellow Judaeo/Christian/Islamic kin that continue to breed Armageddon and Rapture end games and wars, as if that is somehow what G-d might want.
