The Buzz on WYNN LAS VEGASWritten by Joan Ewart
Wynn Las Vegas, new mega resort. Steve Wynn originally named resort "Le Reve" after renowned painting by Picasso that he owns; he then decided it was not nearly as exciting as name "Wynn Las Vegas". Think of implications - you can win Las Vegas at WYNN!WYNN on site of old Desert Inn will stir excitement in hearts of any who have stayed at Desert Inn in past. There will be ghosts, as well as memories, I'm sure. Steve Wynn is such a magician when it comes to bringing best to Las Vegas, and he's certainly on site of where best once was! The Desert Inn built in 1950 was first hotel or resort to use "water features" in desert. They had original "Dancing Waters Show" and a fountain at their entrance. The Tournament of Champions (first Las Vegas golf tournament) was broadcast by NBC. The first "tall" structure, an observation tower, The Skyroom was built to overlook new Strip's best views. You could see Sunrise Mountain and twinkling lights that were beginning to show on desert floor, but Wilbur Clark with all his imagination could not envision this bronzed glass spectacle that is Wynn Las Vegas. Everyone is anxiously waiting to stay and enjoy this new thrill. Several years in making, all have watched cranes and earth being moved around, and now phoenix has arisen from ashes of old Desert Inn. The water-themed $1.85 billion megaresort has 42-story hotel tower, a three-acre man-made lake, Wynn's private art collection in an on-site museum, golf course and several private gambling areas. Wynn megaresort has 2,701 rooms, an average "resort room" is 640 square feet, with special bedding, a sitting area with couch and ottoman, floor to ceiling windows with views of Las Vegas skyline and electronic controls to control window treatments to shut-out or bring-in those views. The price tag for middle of week is around $249.00, not exorbitant for luxury you will enjoy. There is also a selection of suites, including a Tower Suite, Salon, Parlor or Executive Suite. All with appropriate amenities...and even though accommodations are out of this world, you'll be spending more time doing other things. If you want to shop till you drop, you can break bank in shops just as easily as at casino. Just one item from each shop could do it. A bracelet from Cartier, shoes from Manolo Blahnik, a cute little purse from Judith Lieber. Don't forget Gizmos, where you can buy toys for big boys! Pick up some Estee Lauder sunscreen, a silk shirt at Brioni for man in your life, a watch at Wynn & Co., a fancy pen to sign your checks or new sunglasses at W. Ink. A classy jacket from Chanel, some designer fragrance from John Paul Gaultier, an exciting outfit from Oscar de la Renta for lounging around pool and you're all set to stay at Wynn Las Vegas for another couple of days...oh oh, we forgot to mention you can pick up a gull-wing Ferrari at Penske-Wynn showroom to drive home. You can take a day to relax in sumptuous spa. Get a facial, or a Fresh Brown Sugar Body Treatment for your sugar fix of day! Try a "Good Luck Ritual" massage, a fung shui experience based on health, wealth, prosperity, happiness and harmony, guaranteeing you all best at gaming tables and during your stay in Las Vegas. You might need a special foot treatment after all shopping; avoid agony of defeet at spa.
| | Carnival Pride Review cruise ship Written by Yvon Marier
Have you ever considered taking a vacation with no driving, no hassle and no worries for 7, 10, 14 days or more? How about a cruise? If you've never been to one and not sure whether it would be right for you, read on. With all cruise lines, cruise destinations and various range of price available, there is a cruise for just about everyone. We were a group of 4 from Canada. We booked a 7-day Mexican Riviera cruise with Carnival Pride departing from LA, USA. We made arrangements to stay a few days in LA where we visited Hollywood and famous Venus Beach. It was perfect start of our vacation. On day of our cruise departure, we head over to pier and upon our arrival, we were immediately struck by awesome sight of Queen Mary, and our cruise ship was absolutely enormous as it sat there waiting for us. It took about 45 minutes to check our luggage in and board ship. Once on Pride, we found our beautiful stateroom with private balcony, met our room steward, and our luggage magically appeared in our cabin. It's true that Carnival ships remind many people of newer Las Vegas resorts. We unpacked at once and made ourselves feel at home for duration of cruise. After watching ship set sail from our balcony, we went for walks to get our bearings. We discovered a spa, overlooking a fitness centre filled with exercise equipments, and a hot tub in middle of work-out area separated by a glass wall from rest of room. The first two days were sea days. We ate everything in sight, and just acted like people on vacation. The crew members are some of friendliest and most entertaining folks I've ever met. The second day was nice and warm, we lounged around on deck. They have plenty of deck chairs at centre lido pool, we never have problem finding seats. The cruise vessel has activities for whole family 24 hours a day. A state-of-the-art theatre for quality shows and entertainment, which are all included in cruise price. Different entertainment are featured in theatre every evening of cruise. They also have a number of theme bars, lounges and a disco with live music that are open into early morning hours. If nightlife isn't your style, you can enjoy onboard pool, spa, library, fitness centre, shopping and other amenities. If you have children on cruise, they have play areas and programs geared to different age groups. All meals are "world class cuisine" and "gourmet meals", and combined with impeccable service to insure that onboard dining experience is truly memorable. It is all included in price of your cruise. The Pride take into account modern casual lifestyle and provide a variety of restaurants and snack bars on board. There is a varied and plentiful breakfast and lunch buffet similar to what you would find in Las Vegas. Or you can eat breakfast or lunch in one of ship's restaurants, order exactly what you want from menu. Restaurants are usually open for meals for extended hours and buffets are generally open all day and into night. Not mention their 24-hour pizza parlour!
