THE NEW BIRTH

Written by Irvin L. Rozier

THIS FOR ALL YOU MOTHERS (AND DADS) WHO HAVE PRAYED FOR THEIR CHILDREN

This is story number nine (out of fifty) from my book, My Walk withrepparttar Lord, www.selahbooks.com

Psalm 40. 1,2 "I waited patiently forrepparttar 126744 Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out ofrepparttar 126745 miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings."

Christmas 1972 was my first Christmas away from home. I was inrepparttar 126746 Army stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. I received a package from Mama. As I opened it, I uncovered some fresh Georgia pecans, some homemade fruitcake, a bottle of fresh cane syrup, and a few other items. Atrepparttar 126747 bottom ofrepparttar 126748 box was a Bible. During that period of my life, I really didn't have much to do with God and his ways.

Duringrepparttar 126749 following years, I would sometimes pick up that Bible and try to read...I sure didn't understand much of what I was reading. Allrepparttar 126750 begats got to me.

The years 1985 and 1986 were trying times for me. I was still inrepparttar 126751 Army and was having a great career when my family life fell apart. My wife walked out and left me with three small children. At first, I tried to putrepparttar 126752 blame on others when deep inside I knew I was to blame. I needed something but didn't know what would ease my pain.

Well, I was brought up in church (Proverbs 22.6: "Train up a child inrepparttar 126753 way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.") I figured I'd go torepparttar 126754 local church for help. As I counseled withrepparttar 126755 pastor, he gave me a sheaf of papers I had to read and fill out, and then he would talk to me about becoming a member..I didn't need that! I needed Jesus, but no one pointed me to Him.

Written by Irvin L. Rozier

The Mother's Day Miracle, story number two (out of 50) from my book, My Walk withrepparttar Lord, www.selahbooks.com, barnes and noble, amazon

II Samuel 12. 22, 23: "And he said, whilerepparttar 126743 child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, thatrepparttar 126744 child may live? But now he is dead, wherefore should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me."

One Mother's day, after church, I was laying down taking a rest whenrepparttar 126745 phone rang. A Christian friend of mine said, "There is trouble atrepparttar 126746 cemetery, would you go see about it?" I feltrepparttar 126747 presence ofrepparttar 126748 Holy Ghost and immediately drove torepparttar 126749 cemetery. I got out of my car, looked around and there was not a soul in sight. I began to pray and seekrepparttar 126750 Lord forrepparttar 126751 purpose of my being there. After I prayed, repparttar 126752 Lord spoke to me and said, "See that little baby's grave. I want you to go over to it and stand by."

As I stood byrepparttar 126753 baby's grave, I sensedrepparttar 126754 presence ofrepparttar 126755 Lord. Five minutes passed by, ten minutes, 20 minutes, andrepparttar 126756 Lord said, "Have patience." After 30 minutes of waiting, I heardrepparttar 126757 sound of a car approaching. I looked up and saw a woman that I was acquainted with in earlier years. She came right torepparttar 126758 spot where I was standing. That baby was hers and she was missingrepparttar 126759 child on Mother's day.

I began to talk to her and I told her that she couldn't bring her baby back but she could join her child in Heaven. She began to tell me all her troubles, her disappointments in life, her family problems, and her financial problems. As she began to unload, I feltrepparttar 126760 compassion ofrepparttar 126761 Lord beginning to well up in me. Her family was feuding, her brother was sick, and she couldn't afford to call him.
