TAKE BACK YOUR LIFE 2Written by Stephen Ayers
In part one of this series, titled “Take Back Your Life”; we discussed importance of proper cell function as it relates to wellness. Here in part 2, we will discuss why it is important to feed organs of your endocrine system to further insure and maintain a state of wellness and optimum health. Having a well-balanced endocrine system is essential for achievement of wellness and attainment of optimum health. The glands of your endocrine system need to be fed proper raw materials that will support their necessary functions. A hormonal balance is possible with appropriate endocrine support. When proper nutrients are provided in diet, then a well balanced hormonal balance is achieved which will work with body’s immune system, help support efficient metabolism of fat, and support natural recovery from physical and emotional stress. The nutrients that are necessary are wild yam extract, amino acids and beta sitosterol. Adding these components to your diet will make it possible to achieve desired endocrine system performance resulting in an enhanced state of wellness and optimum health. It is most efficient, in today’s environment of dietary uncertainty, to wisely supplement our normal food intake with a herbal amino-acid dietary product that is able to provide what is needed for proper endocrine support. It is important to select such a product that is of highest quality whose ingredients have been properly assayed. Because naturally occurring levels of these ingredients vary greatly from plant to plant, standardization ensures that wild yam used contains optimal levels of beneficial ingredients. A product with high concentrations of natural plant-based phytosterols and steroidal saponins derived from Dioscorea villosa, or Mexican wild yam is most desirable in this instance. Selecting and regularly using such a dietary supplement will contribute to a well functioning endocrine system and work with body’s immune system to help give protection from diseases and other conditions including cancers, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, and menopausal symptoms. Suppression of hot flushes (or, hot flashes) has also been reported by postmenopausal women who support their dietary intake in this fashion. This type of support may also have health implications regarding possible prevention of osteoporosis, resulting in risk of hip fractures. And since loss of bone mass is one of biomarkers of aging, it is probable that this type of plant-based phytosterol supplementation in diet will help to insure against this type of degeneration. There is nothing to suggest that supplementation to diet of plant-based phytosterols is in any way harmful to humans of any age. In fact, natural dietary inclusion of these plant based substances has been practiced by humans for centuries. It is only relatively recently that these necessary elements for maintaining wellness have been processed out of our modern dietary foods.
| | 10 Simple Ways to Naturally Increase Your EnergyWritten by Annika Rockwell
1. Eat protein at every meal: One of most important ways to keep your blood sugar balanced and energy levels high is to include protein at every meal, breakfast and snacks included. The best protein sources include fish, organic meat, chicken, eggs, yogurt, and whey protein powder. Consider making a healthy smoothie for breakfast or snacks using Paleomeal or other healthy organic whey protein, frozen fruit, and some almond milk.2. Limit sugar and caffeine intake: Might sound bizarre but sugar and caffeine give you instant energy, but a few hours later, and in long term, they will only make you more tired. Sugar, fructose corn syrup, and caffeine weaken your adrenal glands, which in turn are responsible for your energy levels. So, by consuming sugar and caffeine, you are weakening your body’s natural energy system. You must wean yourself off of these! Try having one cup of green tea instead, and if you must sweeten your food or beverage, try using Xylitol. 3. Take nutritional supplements. Eating a “perfect” diet does not give us enough key nutrients, such as Carnitine, CoQ10, magnesium, B-complex, and Omega 3s, for optimal energy levels. Taking supplements is necessary to ensure adequate amounts in your system and to cover any deficiencies. On my site you can see in more detail what each nutrient provides. 4. Check for food intolerances or allergies: Most people with low grade food allergies and sensitivities are unaware that they have them because symptoms are as subtle as low energy and difficulty losing weight. Some of most common food sensitivities are to wheat (gluten) and dairy (casein). If there is a food you love and eat single every day, try eliminating it for two weeks and see if your energy increases.
