Stand Up for Jesus

Written by Joyce C. Lock

"Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus" is a song that's been calling Christians for generations. The scriptures tell us to stand against evil, wherever we find it. For many, it seems we're just starting to getrepparttar idea, Je. 23:22.

It's wonderful to see Christians speaking out. Though, let us be reminded that our stand is also to be in our community, church, work, schools, home, and with friends ... wherever evil is. We're called to be peculiar people (inrepparttar 123413 world, without being likerepparttar 123414 world) and we've failed.

We carryrepparttar 123415 blame for America's problems. It's our heart that isn't humble, our laziness to pray, our not seeking God on every issue, our way that is wicked, and our sins that need forgiven.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land, II Ch. 7:14.

Only then can we begin to walk in righteousness, stand by faith, create a clean heart, and fulfillrepparttar 123416 requirements for healing our land.

People Do the Oddest Things

Written by Joyce C. Lock

We send our best wishes for holidays, birthdays, get well, weddings, and such. Yet, why are we wishing for anything when we could really bless them in prayer?

We go into a state of panic when our child is a few minutes late, as if our worry is going to get them home any faster than trusting God. Satan must get a good laugh.

We receive aggravation on every side, as Satan is alive and well on Sundays. Thinking we don’t need God’s help and no one will berepparttar wiser, we go it alone; with our painted smiles, polished attire, and frustrations neatly tucked ... then take it out on our waitress.

When our spouse is out of town; we receive comfort in a friend sleeping over, us staying at mom’s, or one ofrepparttar 123412 kids climbing into bed ... as if any person present can make us safer than we already are. God is our protection. Though, maybe we’d rather believerepparttar 123413 dark will get us.

Instead of askingrepparttar 123414 one who owns it all; we spend money we don’t have on things we think we have to have, get our finances all messed up, then cry, “Help!”
