Spiritual Lesson From a Freckle-Faced Boy in a Cincinnati Red's Cap

Written by Joi Sigers

I've hadrepparttar honor of being in many churches and therefore onrepparttar 126492 receiving end of more stirring sermons than I could even begin to count. I enjoy Bible reading daily as well as a rich prayer life. However, one ofrepparttar 126493 most life-changing, Spiritually-enlightening moments in my life didn't even come in a church. It didn't come while on my deck, surrounded by morning glories and petunias.

It came during a AAA Baseball game! God absolutely works in mysterious ways.

My husband, our daughters and I were enjoying a ballgame on a warm August evening. Enjoying, because we were together, we were eating unbelievably delicious ballpark hot dogs and our team was winning. The only negative presence in our world that evening was about 4 ft. tall with tousled bangs, adorable freckles, a #4 little league jersey and an unforgettably irritating "It's-all-about-me-and-I-dare-you-to-say-it-isnt" aura. Recallingrepparttar 126494 whining of this miniature Red's fan makesrepparttar 126495 hairs on my neck stand at attention even today, three years later!

We first became aware of him about 20 minutes beforerepparttar 126496 game, when he stomped over our feet while trying to get ontorepparttar 126497 field. Nevermindrepparttar 126498 fact that his frazzled father kept telling him "no". He wanted no part of "no" and, after all, knew more than his dad. So he ignored him and, sure enough, received a good scolding from an usher.

This alone could have been a spiritual lesson. How many times do we, God's children, go about our merry little way ignoring Him and His commands, only to hit a wall of disappointmentrepparttar 126499 way #4 hitrepparttar 126500 irritable side of an usher? Then, I wonder, do we wearrepparttar 126501 same "How could that have happened to me? I didn't see that coming!" type of expressionrepparttar 126502 kid wore? No, I don't really wonder - I know we do!

God's Majestic Covering

Written by Terry Dashner

Clothed in Majesty

Terry Dashner………………………Faith Fellowship Church of Broken Arrow, OK 74013

Have you contemplatedrepparttar beauty of God’s majesty lately? Have you heard Him speak lately?

Did you know that God has several blankets with which He cloaks Himself? His coverings are expansive, vast, and immeasurable. His majesty is beautiful and certainly beyond mortal words of explanation. So, it’s best to just stand in awe while we consider Him.

The Lord God covers Himself in three majestic hues—black, gray, and blue. He chooses His wardrobe of blue by day. He desires black by night, and woolen gray duringrepparttar 126491 stormy days. He is majestic in His appearance with His wardrobe of many colors.

In Psalms 93:1 it says, “The lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, repparttar 126492 world is firmly established, it will not be moved.” (NASB)

In Psalms 97:2 it says, “Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice arerepparttar 126493 foundation of His throne.” (NASB)

Why do we consider His majestic covering? His majestic covering accentuates His Glory. To be heard, a voice must be amplified. To make her statement in art, an artist must userepparttar 126494 bold strokes of her brush. To be seen inrepparttar 126495 midst of gross darkness, light must be greater still. God’s majesty intensifies His glory. Intensity defines our God!

His name inrepparttar 126496 Old Testament is Elohim. Consider this. The verb inrepparttar 126497 name construction is singular, butrepparttar 126498 noun is plural. How can that be? Our God is one God. He stands alone, and no other god stands above Him; however, He is many—not many in number. He is “many.” He is much in intensity. His majesty is likerepparttar 126499 sound of many voices uponrepparttar 126500 skip ofrepparttar 126501 waters. Can you hear this? He is abounding, excessive, exceedingly, and more than enough in His manifested majesty.
