Right Brain, Left BrainWritten by Dr. Michael L. Johnson
The right brain controls left side of body and left brain controls right side of body. The right brain is more creative or emotional hemisphere and left brain is analytical and judgmental hemisphere. Anything that is new or not familiar to an individual is right brain dominant. Anything that is familiar is left brain dominant. Along with right and left brain there are different parts of brain. The frontal lobe controls your personality, temporal lobe deals with short and long term memory, parietal lobe is lobe of hand, and occipital lobe, very back part of head, controls vision. There are specific activities that may stimulate right or left brain. Activities that stimulate left brain are solving crossword or word search puzzles, performance of learned tasks, language usage, both comprehensive and expressive, analytical information, problem solving, and recalling new information. Geometric or spatial memory, hand gestures, writing one's name, classifications of pictures or words into categories, recalling complex narratives, recognizing someone you have met, and name recognition are also all left brain activities. Activities that stimulate right brain are emotional issues, creative process, recalling memorized lists, any unfamiliar event or activity, and holding attention span. Seeing or feeling different sizes, seeing different colors, attention exercises involving timing, seeing unfamiliar faces, and meeting someone new also stimulate right brain..
| | Nutritional Supplements - How To Choose A High Quality ProductWritten by David Bloom
Looking for quality nutritional supplements can seem quite overwhelming at times, especially if you're just starting out. It is just as important to be sure you're taking high quality supplements as it is to take right supplements, because there's no point in taking them if they don't work. You may be tempted to buy a "store brand" or bargain nutritional supplement, but just as with anything else, be wary of trading quality for price. One of main criteria you want to look for in choosing right supplement is making sure potency of nutrients is ensured. When label says that there is a standardized amount of a certain nutrient in supplement, this means that balance of herbs has been developed to make sure that each and every capsule contains same amount of active ingredient. Depending on herb in question, it is possible for say 10 milligrams of standardized extract to be as potent or even more so than 100 or even 1000 milligrams of a cheaper version. Another thing you want to check is whether or not nutritional supplements contain natural or synthetic ingredients. While synthetics are of course less expensive, their natural counterparts are much more potent and effective, and have added bonus of being more readily utilized by body. Some people can even have reactions to synthetic version of a nutrient who have never had a problem before, which can lead to problems in future as well. Whether or not active ingredient in supplement is sourced from organic materials is also very important. Nutritional studies have proven time and time again that there are more of key nutrients in organically grown fruits and vegetables than there are in mass produced, chemically treated ones, so it only makes sense that this benefit would be passed on or withheld depending on source of ingredients. Also, full spectrum sourcing is vital to making sure that your supplement has all nutrients you need, as key enzymes and ingredients can be lost in an extraction process.
