The bigger crowd of people you attract for your fundraiser, bigger amount of money that will be raised for your group. Below are some tips for generating interest in your fundraising event! Press Releases are vitally are a great way to make community aware of your event and it will also be good for your group image. Send out your first press release announcing that you are having a fundraising event, why you are having your event, include your target amount and what money is going to be used for. You can have your newsletter distributed online for free on many sites. You may be wondering what good will that do if my fundraiser is local, but you never know who may be interested in sponsoring and supporting your fundraising efforts! Also send out a press release after your fundraising event has ended and thank all those that participated, announce what you did with money raised and give a brief description of outcome and success of your fundraising event. The viral marketing and word of mouth you will receive is priceless!

One of key factors to a successful fundraising event and future fundraising events is to follow up with supporters, volunteers and participants after fundraiser is completed and numbers are tallied! Taking time to add that personal touch will go a long way in eyes of your supporters, participants, volunteers and sponsors. Take time to send them a thank you card and thank them for time spent helping through out fundraiser. This will help assure that they are pleased as well and they will want to participate again next year. Not only should you thank your supports, merchants, volunteers and supporters for their participation and contributions within your fundraising event but they will most likely want to know ending results of fundraiser. How much money was raised in total - Yet another reason they will want to participate in your next event, after seeing how much they raised for a good cause! Be sure and thank all volunteers as well! While we may have good intentions, sometimes volunteers end up getting over looked but they are backbone of fundraiser in most cases.
