When there is no printable version or printable version includes ads or other settings, you can use stylesheets. With CSS awareness plus some web development tools, you can easily create your own formatted print versions. The tool you may need involves Mozilla Firefox. If you don’t have it yet, you can install Chris Pederick’s Web Developer’s Toolbar.

Various techniques are utilized in order to expose grid of website, segregate element containing content you want, use CSS to format page with suitable font sizes, widths, and margins, use CSS to selectively show and hide other parts of page as you see fit and save CSS to create an immediate custom printable view.

To easily take an X-ray of site, use web developer’s toolbar. After that, use Outline Block Level Elements or Outline Table Cells to outline site’s grid then use View ID and Class Details from Miscellaneous menu.

•Stage 1

The first thing to do is to know your audience. By knowing who your target audience is, you may be able to plan your website thoroughly. Planning for your website includes deciding on sections, pages and contents; deciding on dynamics of your content and frequency of update; and providing an initial sketch of your website on paper. This is a good way to plan your website because you will be able to play with it and figure out a setting that will fit your requirements.

Afterwards, create website template and review it.

•Stage 2

Map website template in Flash. "Vectorize" as much as possible. This means that your website should have a bandwidth that is simple and highly efficient. One web designer said that in vectorization "the simpler parts of website are created using simple Flash graphics tools instead of using sliced images." This process will bring a difference in movie size of done properly. For example, an image of 30Kb can be reduced to 2 or 3Kb.

Create a common set of reusable graphics in separate movie clips. Reusable graphics may be bullets, lines, and other graphics related to first two. You could use same movie clips whenever you need them in your movie. With this, you'll be able to reduce size of movie due to Flash' feature of being able to render that particular movie clip as a single entity of movie library.
