Planning to build a computer desk.Written by Dave Markel
Much like any other piece of furniture, selecting computer desk plans requires a little bit of fore thought. There are a number of questions that you need to ask yourself before committing to a design. This will save some disappointment after project is complete. Consider these 10 points before getting started. 1. When planning your office make sure there is sufficient power close to where you plan to put your desk. It is possible to have power points right at your desk if there are computer components that are only used occasionally. 2. Use a species of wood that is going to be able to resist heavy weight of computer components. A hardwood species such as Oak or Maple will provide strength needed to resist these forces. 3. Using right species of wood will resist weight of computer components but joinery used should also provide maximum gluing surface area and thus maximum strength. Joints like dado's for carcase, dovetails or finger joints for drawers and mortise and tenons for any end grain to side grain connections. 4. Be aware that solid wood expands and shrinks with changes in humidity. This is important on any solid wood project and should be accounted for when attaching desk top to carcase.

Like a laid back, relaxed beach vibe? Surf waves in reality, musically, and on Net with Jack Johnson.Lately I’ve been listening to some pretty cool music by some beach bum named Jack Johnson. The tunes he plays really touch a chord within me. They are just so honest and selfless, like stories being told by a wise old palm tree that has endured countless days of peaceful monotony, and yet have also experienced rare tropical storm with gale force winds. I decided to have a look for his website, as I have come to know that humans have written about just about anything of interest on Internet. I found out some interesting things about this soft, rhythmic flowing voice and guitarist on his official site, http://www.jackjohnsonmusic.com. The guy is hardly a beach bum; he’s been a pro surfer, is a popular surfing film producer, and weirdest tidbit of knowledge is fact that he didn’t really want to be a famous musician at all! He’d rather surf some waves, and maybe that’s why his music is so natural and unforced-he hasn’t let his popularity affect his priorities.
