Pedro, Beltran, andrepparttar Mets as seen by one true Yankee Fan:

It’srepparttar 133057 middle ofrepparttar 133058 NFL playoffs, and what has grabbedrepparttar 133059 interest of many sports fans has beenrepparttar 133060 off-season maneuvering and acquisitions ofrepparttar 133061 Mets and Yankees. Inrepparttar 133062 past, repparttar 133063 sports media has hyped baseball trades, repparttar 133064 big money contracts, andrepparttar 133065 long time rivalries which makerepparttar 133066 off-season so interesting, but never as intensely as this year in NY. First, Pedro Martinez, then, Carlos Beltran going torepparttar 133067 Mets has splashedrepparttar 133068 team front and center in our sports world consciousness. Forrepparttar 133069 first time, in a long time, repparttar 133070 Mets have capturedrepparttar 133071 imagination of their fans withrepparttar 133072 possibilities of a dynamic exciting season.

Anyone who knows me knows I loverepparttar 133073 Yankees. And yes, I admit scoffing atrepparttar 133074 Mets in recent seasons. Some may wonder how a Yankee fan feels aboutrepparttar 133075 increasing powerful competition across town.

Like many true Yankees fans, I NEVER wanted to see Pedro Martinez in pinstripes. (Hey, I also was never a Roger Clemmens aficionado). I have witnessed many sworn enemies extendrepparttar 133076 olive branch during my lifetime. I’ve seen Berlin Wall come down, Communism fail, and normal trade with China. I’ve accepted that Darth Vader was once a good guy, and Tom Cruise can play a bad guy, But all that doesn’t mean I could want Pedro Martinez playing for my team. So thanks Mr. Steinbrenner, for not making that deal. However, I do know Pedro is a terrific pitcher, so why not have him winning for a NY team, in another league….that’s perfect!

How To Find Fish

Written by Frank Faldo

Ponds

Anywhere there is a pond; it could be a hidden hotspot for fish. The bottom line is, no matter how smallrepparttar pond may be, it is only a matter of time untilrepparttar 133056 fish find it. If you live near farmland, a great way to scout around for these hidden hotspots is to schedule a flight overrepparttar 133057 area and map out any bodies of water you may have missed.

The Evening Secret will double your catches, and swarm fish into your waters. (http://www.eveningsecretfishing.com/specialsecret/Finding_Fish.php

Using Hay

If it is legal in your area, buy some spoiled hay from garden supply stores underrepparttar 133058 label “mulch hay”. Dump a few bales inrepparttar 133059 water. Grubs and insects will fall out, and will provide fish food to keep fish in your spot.

New Body Of Water

If you are going to start fishing a newly created body of water (like a reservoir), here are some things to keep in mind.

Forrepparttar 133060 first 2 years, it will be very easy to catchrepparttar 133061 fish, though they will be smaller (t though about 50% larger inrepparttar 133062 second year). The 3rd year will prove more of a challenge, asrepparttar 133063 fish are larger and savvier. It is important to move aroundrepparttar 133064 lake and watch whererepparttar 133065 experienced anglers are getting action. Also keep tabs on where and when each species is feeding. Also, make a note ofrepparttar 133066 moon phase when you record this information, so that you can refer to it duringrepparttar 133067 same phase in following years.

You will probably discover thatrepparttar 133068 bass feed best at dawn and dusk, bluegills during midmorning and midafternoon, crappies under lantern light at night, and white bass at high noon.

After this third year, these proven tactics will really start to pay off. For bass, remember to give a variety of offerings. Lay out one of each; plastic worm, overhead spinner, surface noisemaker, crankbait, and weedless spoon.

Old Lake, Never Fished Before

Fish in older lakes are very savvy because they have been approached by “every trick inrepparttar 133069 book” by experienced anglers. Largemouth bass, in these areas, have been shown to move as much as 10 miles in one day in search of food. To target them, troll some deep running lures that just nudge bottom cover.
