More and more companies are offering products and services that average person uses, and making them available in a MLM format. Products such as nutritional products, water filtration systems, communication services, and internet access are all sold through Multi-Level Marketing.
MLM has gotten a bad reputation over years due to fact that, originally, many companies were set up to make money only for founders, leaving those who got in later with nothing but empty promises -- and pockets!
Even today, when most Network Marketing companies are legitimate, many people don't like anything to do with MLM. People will turn their backs on a great opportunity simply because it involves Multi-Level Marketing. They can't seem to forget past.
Network Marketing is a business about helping people. These are non-traditional businesses, generally worked from home (exactly what you're looking for, right?).
Many business opportunities are actually network marketing companies but, because of bad reputation mentioned earlier, they don't call themselves that.
Some of advantages are:
A MLM distributor must stay grounded and not have too high hopes in beginning. The sales are probably not going to immediately happen. Often, marketing companies try to make it sound too easy to be true. You must realize that riches will not come overnight. Lots of hard work and networking will be required of you to gain a level of success.
Some MLM distributors fail because they were not willing to put forth all effort necessary to give their business a chance. One initial setback and many people want to give up. Even if you start business on a part-time basis, you must invest both time and money to make business work. Even though some claim their plan is a get rich quick scheme, you have to realize that there is no such thing.
