Modern works of artWritten by Florie Lyn Masarate
When Michaelangelo hand-painted Sistine chapel, he did not have any idea that one day, painting that took him years to make, can be made in a matter of hours, maybe days. With just a simple push of buttons, a few shove at mouse and a vivid and wide imagination. And of course, not to mention, use of highly-modernized machines and gadgetries. If only he had known that one day, machines will be able to do things that human can, then maybe, he would just had sat there and let it do his paintings. But then again, we would not have pioneers of these modern machines if not for past creations that have inspired them. Their works served as solid foundation for what people are capable today. Graphics designs of future may have originated from earliest works of past. Who would have thought that putting art works in designs would attract more attention than those with none? Graphics made use of artists touch to be able to put ideas into prints. They are one who thought of concepts that are put into action with help of machines that make their tasks a lot easier and faster. Things that were once thought to be impossible are made possible, which makes one wonder about limitations of human minds.
| | TIME TRAVELLING POSTERS AND PICTURESWritten by Florie Lyn Masarate
Make yourself go back into not so distant past. Try to remember first poster you ever saw that made an impression on you. The one you can still picture on your mind up to now. What did it look like? What made poster an unforgettable one? Is it message of words written or picture on it? Or just simply way it was done?Or have you associated a picture with something or someone in any way? For example, in stumbling upon one shot, you remember your old room, your favorite chair, or your grandmother taking you in her lap and singing songs. Memories that when comes back when you think of simplest thing. Posters and pictures are “feasts for eyes”. We can see them everywhere, in streets, restaurants, malls, just about any place one can think of. People, being visual, tend to look first before taking in details. If they like what they see, then they continue on exploring and taking other aspects. When we see something simple, we dismiss it as boring and do not bother to look for more. But if we see something that catches our eyes, we tend to look longer and appreciate what is in front of us. If you compared things from past and things now, you would be amazed at extent of chance that people are capable of. People now can appreciate posters that give out realistic colors and picture. Just by looking at them, one can feel as if what is in poster is real. By using vibrant graphics, people can now have an initial idea what this places or persons look like. Needing no words, pictures tell it all. No need for further explanation.
