Mesothelioma Cancer Diagnosed- Questions to askWritten by Paul Curran
Following diagnosis, uppermost amongst a patient's thoughts will be these..."Am I going to die?", "Will I be in much pain?". As there is no cure for mesothelioma it is important that patient is advised that with modern treatment they can, for months or years, live a normal life for most of time. And that modern drugs are very effective at keeping pain under control and relieving it.Obviously treatment aspect is extremely important and patient and close relatives must ensure that they get consultant and doctors to explain comprehensively how it is all going to work. It is advisable to compile a list of questions to put to medical staff prior to any appointments or consultations and to get a relative or close friend to go along with patient. I would advise taking a look on internet for information about disease and printing out relevant bits. I did this when my father was diagnosed with stomach cancer. When I showed consultant what I had been studying, I sensed a more open discussion and perhaps a few more technical details were covered that otherwise might not have been. There is no harm in taking notes with you and you might even consider taping discussion. These are potentially highly stressful and upsetting meetings which might mean that you don't remember all that was said. You'll want to know where and when treatments will take place.

Arrest Aging Process by Bette L. Hall CMA, NHCThe word aging conjures up negative images in our minds of forgetfulness, restlessness and sleepless nights, and wrinkled skin with dark spots on face and hands. We no longer need to stand by and accept these things as part of natural aging process. Scientific studies show us that it is possible to enhance both length and quality of life. The length of our life or number of years we live is not important if we cannot have quality of life also. Who would want to live to be eighty or ninety years old if we cannot sleep or think right and you don’t even know names of your family members? So what we need to do is to arrest aging process. A specific amino acid, acetyl-L-carnitine, can sharpen mental abilities and stimulate growth of new neuritis. Robert Crayhon, M. S. recommends that we take carnitine and acetyl-Lcarnitine along with Co-Q10 and folic acid for improved cognitive function.
