Meditation Is Like A Dinner PartyWritten by Steve Gillman
Try Not To Force Things Too MuchOften, when meditating, we try too hard to force a certain state of mind that we think we should have. We try hard to suppress thoughts, for example. This is just another thought, of course, and another obstacle to peaceful state we are hoping for. So how do you make things happen that can't be forced? The question itself shows need for another perspective. Some things can't be forced to happen, and all struggles to do so only take you farther away. There are times when all you can do is prepare and wait. The Dinner InvitationImagine a wonderful evening with new friends. You prepared dinner, bought a good bottle of wine, and cleaned house. Now guests are here, conversation is great, and you are happy. Can you make this happen? Yes and no. You can prepare in every way to make it a pleasant event, but in end, guests can decline your invitation, or not arrive, or show up late, right? You can't force them to come, or if you try, you'll ruin atmosphere or even friendship.
| | Create Your First Dream Board Written by Maria Marsala
(Dream It, Create It, Become It)Have you ever heard of "Dream Boards" or "Treasure Maps"? A Dream Board is a visual picture of dreams you have for your life. Some of my clients also use this concept to visualize their businesses! It's their first business plan. One thing that is important to remember, though, is not to "get stuck" on your dream boards. We all have plans for our future, but it's important to watch universe for signs of "its" plans for us. Otherwise, we might miss out on some great opportunities! Step 1: Purchase a large piece of paper such as oak tag or poster board in whatever color you like. Also, find 4 thumbtacks and glue or scotch tape. You now have beginnings of your Dream Board. Step 2: In center of your board, put a picture of you that you really enjoy looking at. Step 3: Whatever your dreams, goals, etc., start cutting out pictures that symbolize your dreams and paste them on your board. You can always draw pictures if you'd like. Can't draw perfectly? Draw it anyway! (If I can, you can.)
